Jim Posted April 18, 2021 Author Report Posted April 18, 2021 Thanks Gary & Rob. Booked into Nuffield for tomorrow and the RAC will take me there. I just hope that the distance I travelled wasn't enough to do serious and expensive damage. But that's nothing compared to how angry I am with myself. Gazza and 2006holmwood 2 Quote
Jim Posted April 19, 2021 Author Report Posted April 19, 2021 The RAC man has transported it and Simon & crew at Nuffield motors are going to fix it for me. I know I wanted to lose a bit of weight . . . . . . . . . . but not off my wallet! Plonker! 🤪 Never mind eh! Gazza 1 Quote

fisherman1055 Posted April 22, 2021 Report Posted April 22, 2021 I did the sme thing last year. £60 of petrol in a diesel, it was Lorraine's Birthday and we were going out for the day. (not) Realised when i had paid and got back to the car, the lady in the petrol station was very understanding and put cones round the car, clearly I was not the only one to have done it there. Specialist company came out and for the princly sum of £160 drained the tank and took away all my expensive petrol. Jim 1 Quote
Jim Posted April 22, 2021 Author Report Posted April 22, 2021 Saved the cost of new filters etc. I had no idea until it started misfiring. Reminded me of my old Vauxhall Chevette ! Maverick Martin and fisherman1055 1 1 Quote
Ohgreatone Posted April 23, 2021 Report Posted April 23, 2021 We've all done it I guess, thankfully my car has a failsafe filler that prevents the wrong nozzle being inserted. You don't want that to happen!!! Jim 1 Quote
