The move to a webinar-based approach has similarly been positively received with only occasional technical issues now being reported by attendees after some initial challenges. Postings of the forums for later viewing via the Angling Trust website has helped anyone with technical issues to catch up. Anglers Against Pollution: find out more Fish of the month: Plaice Plaice are most commonly caught by shore anglers between now and September after spending winter months in deeper water out at sea to spawn. When the sea temperature begins to warm up in the spring, plaice move into shallower inshore water. The first plaice to arrive are often skinny and undernourished, but will be keen to take a bait and will feed on a variety of food sources. As the summer goes on plaice will fatten up and become more selective about the food they take. During the spring and summer months plaice are often found in estuaries and, being a flatfish, plaice prefer sandy or muddy seabeds. Plaice are highly valued as a food fish. Along with cod and haddock they are the fish most commonly used in the classic British dish of fish and chips and are a regular feature on the menus at restaurants and pubs. Not yet a member?
