Thanks, Rob Rob are they GF and FF windows ? If so these are the more challenging to the surveyors measuring and the fitters, they must have reinforcing columns usually metal poles in the corners for structural support. The heads of the GF are also challenging to waterproof if they have masonry above. Silicon is not the answer.
Rob
Mal, both assuming ground floor and first floor................. no masonary above - the bay is tiled - just a standard Bournemouth 1930's house. R

What wrong with those BTW.

What wrong with those BTW. 20+ years old (maybe 25+), 5 units have blown in the last 12 months. some of the fanlights are going brown inside. The openers have always been pita the open / slam closed. generally poor i'd say. R
Mal Thomas
Seems about right for the age, when you have the new ones give the metal stays a spray with WD 40 or equivalent to stop them rusting if you often leave them open. They may also be beaded externally and new profiles are more secure and beaded on the inside.
Rob
Oh yes, external beads Mal!I didnt get the blown units replaced as I feared the beading would crumble!R
