Adam too Ruben and myself out on Saturday after we all spent the morning at a work party on our pheasant syndicate.

The late start meant a late finish. We were out on Southbourne rough (tried a couple of spots) but it was slow going. But plenty of pout!!

A move to Ballard yielded some keeper bream to keep us happy.

A late move as the sun was dipping for a bass led to me getting one on on a lure and Adam dropping one.

Cracking day out, thanks chaps.

Shame the fishing didn't match the weather... I was surprised how early the May water has arrived this year - presumably the unseasonal amount of sunshine has been a factor? The water at Ballard was much much clearer - you could see the bottom in 12' of water.

It was good to be out regardless.
