Mike Y
Really looking forward to the Alderney trip - just assembling a few bits of tackle and servicing the reels etc. Anybody who has been before got any special tips? Killer shad colours for the pollack etc., tips for winkling out the brill??
Swainiac
My best tips for you mike are as follows....for Brill, give your rod to Adam, and for Turbs....hand it to Martin. For specimen sezed Bass ignore the skipper totally and fish with a dead lifeless old launce, and for a great eveing out, get into the harbour lights for the old shirt reading the quiz..........top entertainment!! Looking forward to the trip myself, will be good to see my pal Phat Mark again. Rich
duncan
replacement power steering pump, outdrive service, oil leak, antifoul , slipped disc, weather............permitting.......... I am looking forward to it too! Planning on the manky bit of bait on crap tackle approach to get the big one! Seriously thought (and the frst sentence was as well) - I have made up some snoods with between 3-10ft of 35lb flurocarbon and 3/0 and 5/0 long shank hooks (seem very small beside most things in my rig wallet!) whish I trust will be what I need and plan on 12 and 20 lb rods. Am I on the right track? As Dave can get a brill drifting the rips I am sure he will have no trouble over there!
Maverick Martin
Rods 12lb class for the flaties and most other things, 20lb for the wrecks. 4' Traces 25lb flouro or amnesia with 3/0-5/0 hooks ideal. Take a spinning rod or very light boat rod in case we go close inshore for reef pollock...brilliant fun Martin
