Adam F Posted March 31, 2004 Author Report Posted March 31, 2004 Dont know? - Can you cast 2 miles?? Quote
Bob F Posted March 31, 2004 Report Posted March 31, 2004 Splash-out will be there, plus one crew. Bob F Quote
Maverick Martin Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Hi The full crew on Maverick will be Me, Bob Horne and Peter Russel senior What time does everyone else want to set off, weather permitting of course Martin Quote
Adam F Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 Best forecast I can get is to Thurs. Force 3 N / NW. Pretty good? I have 1 crew at present. Could take another. What do we suggest as timings? What are the tides again? I could do with being back in at a reasonable time. Also it is a fare track for all of us back. Im thinking return to shore about 3/4pm. Home 5.30 / 6pm?? Adam Quote
Adam F Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 http://www.ukho.gov.uk/tideprediction.cfm Tide times. Looks like we are launching into HW, retreaving at LW. I would therefore suggest an early start? What is the slip acces like at diff. states of tide? Adam Quote
Maverick Martin Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Adam The slip at Weymouth is usable at all states of the tide so no problem there The trip to weymouth with a boat in tow is around 50mins coming home might take longer because of the traffic. How does 7am at the slip sound? Martin Quote
Adam F Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 Good. So: 7am at the slip - prompt. Launched by 8am At mark by 9am. Slack tide for an hour or so, gives us 5 hours of usable tide. Low is at 3pm, so good time to start to head in on the slack? Retreave boats at 4pm. Leave at 5pm Home approx 6pm. How does this sound. We have so far: Maverick - 3 Blue Warrior - 3 Splash Out - 2 Loyal Royal - 2 Others? - Enticer, Neo, ???? Quote
Bob F Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Sounds ok to me. I think Mark A said he would be coming, so we should include Enticer. So, would are the crew on each boat? Maverick - Bob H, and Pete Blue Warrior - ? Splash Out - BoyBilly (Weymouth local) Loyal Royal - Paul J Enticer - John F Who else wanted to come? Bob F. Quote
Adam F Posted April 4, 2004 Author Report Posted April 4, 2004 Blue Warrior has my mate Stuart (likely to pull out though - young kids and under the thumb! ) I was going to have BillyBoy, but Bob has him, so maybe Ill have Mike? Quote
Coddy Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 Hi all I wish you all good luck on your trip I just wish I could be there too. I checked weather site and at this time it looks like the wind is going to be a F2 WNW but increasing during the day but it is a bit advance to predict just yet. If you need some marks I can send you some, not tried them all but I was given some of them by a local. Any shore fishing, go to Portland just beside Pulpit Rock for Wrasse, Conger, Pollock and possibly Bass. Be prepare to loose tackle however. A mate got a 6lb Ballen the other week from there and is still fishing well. Have fun and Adam don't forget to fit the transom drain bung in, I forgot to do this for the first time 2 weeks ago They fall out very easily bee warned but you can always use one from the baitwell tanks. Regards Cod Quote
Bob F Posted April 4, 2004 Report Posted April 4, 2004 The same thing happened to Enticer on her maiden voyage. The bung had come out during the drive to the slip. Good way of washing the deck. We only found out that the bait wells contained the same bung a couple of hours later. Quote

duncan Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 More than OK surely - if you could dial in the winds and tides you would pick what's currently predicted/forecast. What are the club records for Turbot and Plaice currently? Quote
Paul D Posted April 8, 2004 Report Posted April 8, 2004 Duncan, The record list is on the front page of the site :- Record List Plaice is 5 lb 11 Oz - T Smith. Turbot is 9 lb 6 Oz - P Peck Quote
