Adam F Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Does anyone know where I can source decent HD prop bags / covers from? I have used the thin nylon flourecent ones in the past but they dirty quickly when on an engine and wear through / rip easily. I have seen the ones on a few boats that are made from the same HD material that tonneau covers are made from but cant seem to source them online any where? Ta Quote
Maverick Martin Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 If you can't source them you might try asking a sailmakers or marine upholsterers to make you one. BTW whats it for? have you found yet another boat Martin Quote
Adam F Posted February 6, 2007 Author Report Posted February 6, 2007 have you found yet another boat ....dont start! ....not saying Quote
Afishionado Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Here's a clue..... Currently the new boat may not have a prop bag!!! Best prop bag I ever had was a Daily Echo delivery bag I found at Longham tip Bright yellow and tough as old boots. It was so good some bugger nicked it of my boat at home! Mad Mike Quote
Fugazi Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Adam, As well as not needing a prop bag you'll find that Jet drives are really safe for diving and you won't get any more line or rope caught round the prop. Gordon H Quote
Coddy Posted February 6, 2007 Report Posted February 6, 2007 Adam As Mike says, the newspaper delivery person's bag is great. I have one on Sammy and used it on the previous boat so that's about 4+ years now! Just got to mug a paper person! or give the local newsagent or newspaper a call to see they have any spares you can borrow. Coddy Quote

plaicemat Posted February 7, 2007 Report Posted February 7, 2007 I have to say, Adam, that having converted from bags to prop sox, I know which I prefer. They stay on, dont tear and are easy to fit and remove. Job sorted. Terry. Quote
