TomBettle Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Hi Martin, Writing out the cheque on saturday, so as soon as it has cleared she's all mine. jas Jason With regards to insurance: Seriously recommend you check your level of cover. I use Denovo myself and it is very good cover albeit marginally more. Check that your policy includes use at night (you are going to go out at night at some point) Check that your policy doesn't have an increased excess for "Under water gear" (some don't even cover this) and apart from an accident in a marina, it is this that is going to get damaged on most other occasions. Go with whoever you feel is best, but remember you get what you pay for..... Quote
Adam F Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 Go with whoever you feel is best, but remember you get what you pay for..... Generally I agree Tom, however I insure through Porthcawl, they have been one of the cheapest every year I ring round, and they do cover me for such things as you mention. It is worth checking though, and Porthcawl only insured me for 25 miles + when I requested it (they didnt charge me though!) Quote
TomBettle Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 We run a lot of our customer insurance through Denovo (as well as my own) and I was on the phone to them earlier and just mentioned they had lost a deal to Craft Insure. The guy I was speaking to advised to check the level of cover as mentioned above. Quote
Afishionado Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I insured with Craftinsure for several seasons and having read the policy found it perfectly adequate. "Oh you better check their smallprint/policy" is a hoary old chestnut trotted out by brokers that have been bettered. Having said that, this year I am switching to Saga (you gotta be over 50) who's cover is brilliant and have no excess' at all, together with being Quote
pegleg Posted March 15, 2007 Author Report Posted March 15, 2007 Hi Guys, thanks for advice . There is no mention of use at night so will have to chase that up. Policy excess is Quote

Fugazi Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 I also renewed my boat insurance this year with Craft Insure as they were very competitive. However, I would have gone with Saga who were even cheaper, but were a bit slow in giving me a quote. You do have to be an old git though to use them. Gordon H Quote
Afishionado Posted March 15, 2007 Report Posted March 15, 2007 bit slow in giving me a quote. Yeah, checkin' up on yer real age no doubt. Some folk u'll say anything to get a bus pass and OAP rates at Gala Bingo! Mad Mike Quote
