Paul D Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 What bait / tactics etc. are required ? I presume it is the uptiders with Squid / Squid and Mackeral baits ? Any tips gratefully received ( but I am banking on Bob F knowing what he is doing ) Quote
Adam F Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 (edited) Bang on Paul, although downtiding will still work and lug may also we worth taking. The biggest tip I can give is to keep fresh bait on your hooks due to the murky water - 5 mins bottom time max. ....may be worth taking the burley bombs?? Still waiting to hear from Craig at Burnham re. timings etc - Ill chase him today. Edited April 23, 2007 by Adam F Quote
Newboy Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 Does uptide outfit have to have to hve mono or would braid work? Quote
Adam F Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 So far we have: Neo (Bob F and PD) Nipper (Mark & Rich) OOTB (Me and Brother Greg) Enticer (Gordon & ??) Cimmara (Simon, Al + 1) Fat Chance (TBC) Come on guys!! - we must be able to get at least another couple of boats???? Quote
Adam F Posted April 23, 2007 Author Report Posted April 23, 2007 Does uptide outfit have to have to hve mono or would braid work? I prefer braid, but many favour mono as it tends to cushion the leads and stops it breaking out - Ill be sticking with my braid though. Quote
plaicemat Posted April 23, 2007 Report Posted April 23, 2007 That will be Enticer with Gordon and Terry. Terry. Quote
alun j. Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 The weather for Sunday looks better and better each day !! Don't forget the sunscreen!..... ....and a cooler for the bait [ and beers ] !! Looking forward to a good day, Alun. Quote
Coddy Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 (edited) Unfortunately I will be unable to make it due to other commitments. Good luck to all who are going. Coddy Edited April 25, 2007 by Coddy Quote
alun j. Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 Just dug out a pair of uptiders........ with Speedmasters loaded with braid. Gentle, thumb-controlled lobs gives no probs. casting........... braid helps bite detection and contact with the fish. How's the convoy tally going ?? Any others joining a warm, sunny outing ?? Alun. Adam F Posted April 25, 2007 Author Report Posted April 25, 2007 How's the convoy tally going ?? Any others joining a warm, sunny outing ?? Very poor, sadly... 5 boats out of some 70/80 club boats... Quote
Newboy Posted April 25, 2007 Report Posted April 25, 2007 I remember the cancelled trip last year we had over 10 boats, even I was bringing sweet honey. Maybe we now have more larger boats which are moored rather than trailered. Good luck to you guys, I'm off to Dover to catch the bass Quote
Paul D Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 So what's the plan with regard to times and route of travel ? Also, if anyone going ( Bob ? ) has a spare wheel could I stick with them in the convoy as I have no spare at the moment. Quote
plaicemat Posted April 26, 2007 Report Posted April 26, 2007 Just spoken to my contact at Burnham and he says 08.30 book-in, 09.00 start and 18.15 back on the beach. Terry. Quote
