If you havent rejoined this great little club your status in the forum should have reverted to that of just plain old forum member If you feel this has been changed in error then let me know and I will check it out. If rejoining is just an oversight then send in your details along with this years subs as we really would love to see you back in the fold.

Phaeton will be out over the next couple of wekends for winter maintenace - seem to have managed 42 engine hours this year already..........and whilst I have done the engine bits I can't do the drive or antifouling sat on the berth! Not big into bream comps anyway - too much luck involved

I think next year we will ask that all cheques etc go directly to the membership sec less chance of a boo boo

Look below your forum name and you will see "group" you are indeed in the club member group.

 

BTW your cheque was received but will not be banked for a week or two or when Bob H and I have had chance to meet

Just some feedback, I was talking to a former member recently who didn't renew last year because he no longer had regular internet access. He felt unable to keep in touch with club activities as the newsletter and other info was only available online or via the forum, also he lives away from the Poole area so had difficulties attending club nights. He was complimentary about the club and may well rejoin in the future.

That's interesting - I had thought the paper newsletter was still issued (I kept trying to get mone stopped becasue of the wasted cost to the club and trees.....).

With reference to the wider 'internet' element there is no doubt in my mind that there is a club within a club when it comes down to the web presence and forums. However, as someone who lives 141 miles from the slipway; has managed 1 club night in 4 years; doesn't trail & generally fishes only the majors (48hr, ray-flat/open) I have to say that somehow I have shaken hands with at least 40 members and find it an amazingly accomadating club overall! The introduction of the minor 'do' Sunday night after the 48hr is an excecllent example of how the committee have taken forward the people thing in line with the web presence.

 

On th eother hand if you simply aren't going to get out fishing at all or attend any club events, then I suppose membership makes little sense as there is no joining fee and someone can rejoin in the future when thier circumstances change (for the better!)

I got my newsletter "on paper" last year and I am the webmaster !

The newsletter goes via email to those that have it (to save postage) then by post to those that don't have email. If someone misses out on the paper version then sorry it must be my fault as I produce these and fold them and stamp them and post them so nobody else to blame
