Went out with Al Hughes this morning for some lure fishing.

The easterly wind made for some uncomfortable conditions and the fishing was slow.

We got a few small fish but nothing to keep us out there very long.

On the way back we saw Frank who got a rope around his brand new prop and was waiting for Awol to give him a tow.

Waved to Martin and Dean who were on rescue patrol as we passed at the entrance

Good to see you and Alan out playing today.

We managed to collect Frank and tow him into quieter waters so he could get onto his bathing platform and cut away the offending rope. No damage done and he was able to carry on with his testing of new props.

We went and played in the harbour with just a half a dozen or so chequers and one lone miniscule flounder, we did have a very nice fry up though smile.gif

Then went around to Pottery pier and rafted up with Tony Deavin who was out on his new Jenny Merry Fisher 695 with wifee and friends, nice boat Tony

Re: New Boat

I took ownership of a Merry Fisher 695 from Southern Motorboats on Thursday 27th September.

Good job I was on holiday and able to play with her over the past few days, what a difference compared to a Shetland.

I am still learning to drive her as she has a shaft drive and only goes in the direction she is pointing, different to an outboard.

My parking skills have improved over the past few days and I will soon be able to use her for fishing.

She is at Salterns at the moment but will be going to her new home at Rockley Boat park shortly.

Many thanks to Tom Bettle for his advice on boat choice, customer service, and boat handling lesson.

Best Wishes

Tony Deavin

the Rockley Flotilla continues to grow............

I am sure you will have a lot of great times with the new boat Tony - I find that size manages to combine the family fun and fishing roles very well indeed with just enough creature comforts and the necessary sea keeping to take away that inevitable nervousness when heading back from an idyllic day round west through St Alban's, Durlston and Peveril if it's ebbing hard!

Look forward to seeing you around

Hi Tony

I am glad you are enjoying her and beginning to get the best from her.

It takes time!

She's a lovely boat and she is with us temporarilly whilst we do some last minute alterations to suit Tony's requirements. Fingers crossed that they will be completed imminently and Tony can enjoy her from her home berth at Rockley.

PBSBAC?

Nah

RPSBAC!
