Well, she's sold (subject to final balance on Friday)

A little sad as always when one goes, but I didnt have her that long and due to the hectic last 12 months she doesnt have quite as many memories as the last one.

Anyway the new 'Project' ph34r.gif is officially underway biggrin.gif

Like Charlie, I have pinned a piccie of Alderney and a few big flatfish shots in the workshop to keep the mind focused!!

Available to crew for the foreseeable future!

Well done mate

I did not think that ether boat would be hard to sell considering the excellent condition they were kept in.

Onwards with the new project, Iam sure you wil make a great job of it.

You and Bob are welcome onboard when the lure of the sea gets too much.

Sam will have joined up by the 48 hr comp so perhaps we could arrange something then.

See you in Alderney......this year or next?

sounds like progress Adam so I wish you well as you take the next step

One small thought - at first glance TBA! doesn't look like a great boat name but I suppose it grows on you rolleyes.gif

As regards Alderney - one of the certainties of 2008 is that the club tub record will be broken; who by is however amazingly open!

Martin has proved he can find them and hok them - but also has a stunning drop rate for big flats from AWOL sad.gif

Charlie - is Charlie, and I can't see him returning without one; whatever it takes ph34r.gif

Tom only needs to spend more time on the banks and less on the wrecks tongue.gif

Alun and PJ are both waving their hitchhiking thumbs like crazy and are committed and proven respectively...... cool.gifwink.gif

and then there's Mike Fox - but on a big tide he will only get one drift per 6 hours........ sad.gif

Someone will get a 16 is my prediction

A lovely boat Adam, am not surprised she sold so quickly!

Loved the single drift comment Duncan!

Last time I was down there in July last year, it was blowing a F5 against tide, and the Alderney Race was a little whumpity. I had 9 plump mackerel in a bucket, ready to drop a half fillet or 36..., but given the conditions, I didn't want to spend too long on the bank and find the tide taking me BACK through the Race up to Cherbourg again.

Would love to play to be honest! Maybe on a neaps in late July / early August? However, I do have a cunning plan. I suspect there are medium-sized turbot much much closer to Poole, if you know where to look. I know of two marks where there are plaice-sized ones, and there might be bigger ones there too!

June Mike, that way when you finish fishing the banks at last light you have a nice night sail back to a port for breakfast rolleyes.gif

I like between 0.8 and 1.3 knots of tide over the bank for the flats - with tha acceleration due to shallowing this can be created with significantly less running off the banks ie neaps

It does help to be able to run from A to B quickly, although the Schole has a lot of opportunities in quite a tight area eg you can base yourself at the south and just move your drift a little each time covering the area of the bank like a clock.

We are as keen now as ever

and if we have space I am sure we will get takers

Not sure if I will be the one to get a bigun onboard as we will need to learn a few tricks of the trade marks for bait etc

Bring it on

Well the new project ph34r.gif wont even be here until May, so I'm mega keen to go over, provided I can stow away!

Missed out last year due to the small matter of a wedding, so I need to get back in the seat

Shame its probably a bit late to book the Armoury..
