I want to take Small Fry out on Friday Afternoon.

I've got no idea about catching Bass.

Does anyone with more idea than me fancy the afternoon afloat ?

I'm looking to launch at Baitor Park at 1.30 pm ( ish. )

Return evening ( ish. )

2 spaces available.

Hi jim, im not about on friday so i cant make it, but to be honest, ive never been out of baiter before so i don't know the drifts out there.

If you ever bring the boat to christchurch or lymington i can show you the drifts and hopefully put you on a fish or two.

If you can't get here with your boat, your welcome to crew anytime you like on mine mate but hopefully one of the lads will take up your offer and join you.

Thanks Dan.

As no-one seems to be available to give me a bit of guidance, I COULD go out on my own.

I was just about to throw it open to any inexperienced club member so they can learn how to NOT catch fish from me, and perhaps help to make a decision about choice of boat.

But decided to re-check the weather. THE SWINES ! They've changed their minds.

Earlier in the week they said it was going to be Hot & Sunny on Friday.

Now it's going to be Heavy Showers.

Bu*ger it !

I'll probably cancell now, depending on interest and a change of weather.

Looks like it'll be Asda with my Mum again.

Cheers for your offer Dan.

Jim

PS are you at the BARBIE ?

Hi Jim,

I certainly fit the "inexperianced" bit. biggrin.gif

I would normally love to join you as I can usually wangle a Friday afternoon off but unfortunately not this week. I've got to go to Brighton at 6.00am on Saturday and I've got some work I've got to finish before I go.

Hopefully next time your offer is open to the "inexperianced" smile.gif

Jim,

LOL is what the smilie face is ( it stands for lots of laughs ). ie. laugh.gif

I would have been up for a trip out on Friday afternoon, but don;t come under the experienced category ( although not totally inexperienced ) - just not very good !

However, I have my nephew and sister coming over so taking them out fishing myself hopefully.

cheers Pauk

Could be breezy [and damp ??] ??..........I've pulled the plug on tomorrow's plans.

I was rather spoilt by yesterday ..... when the weather just got better and better[than the forecast]......... but fishing was slow for the bass.

Rag .......... are you fishing for wrasse??.... they like ragworm!!

Terry..........not sure!!....Just think bass are nore choosy when there's plenty of food about!

We got 5 bass yesterday [ nothing 'big'].......all when tide was slacker. 1 on feathers!, 2 on LW slack, 2 on HW slack ............BUT........ my crew lost a 'biggie' in the main flood.

Plenty of mackerel around ........everywhere!

See !

I keep saying I don't know what I'm doing.

Where's a good spot for Bass out of Poole ?

So I should go and get some Mackerel then ?

Float or Ledger ?

Drift or Anchor ?

Never mind. It's just good to get out again ! ! ! !

Hi Jim,

From my pov, the trouble withPoole is how far you have to go !!

You could try the Swash [if not too busy!!], Old Harry [if not too bumpy] or the Patches [if you want to lose tackle in the rocks!]

Go out of Christchurch and the Ledge is just round the corner.... anchor in front of it [if fishing the flood] ... or drift over it. Huge area.......lots of fish holding \ catching potential.

Beware of shallow areas around LW ... and wind over water when the tide is running!!

.......and all the pot gear \ ropes in the water.

Have fun!!

Alun.
