Why do weddings and Golden wedding anniversarys have to happen on a Saturday.

If anyone needs some company in the shape of an alledged crew i would love to come and have a go at catching my fist Bass, Not an inspiring offer i guess for a Bass comp but best i can manage at this time.

 

I do accept advice and have lures though ;-) and enthusiasm, and some cheese sarnies

now got an old wilson flyer will be out saturday all being well

 

give me a shout if you want to go should do better than the last comp we fished?

 

have a new fish finder/ plotter on order not sure if i will get it by sat so might have

you guys need to remember that we are hardly ever able to get the the meetings due to them being on a Thursday and as such we are an unheard voice at the time these descisions are made.

Thats why we have a website and all the years competitions are on the front page under site content Competition details

 

The idea behind having a competition on a Saturday was to try and please some members that due to whatever reason struggle to fish on Sundays. Seems like you cant please all the people all the time.

 

Sometimes i just feel these things are organised around the local wishes without thinking about the folks who have to travel, you guys need to remember that we are hardly ever able to get the the meetings due to them being on a Thursday and as such we are an unheard voice at the time these descisions are made.

The above statement is so unfair and so not deserved on a committee that try their hardest to please all. Also for your information even the local members have very little input into this sort of decision. The committee are entrusted to sort out the club calendar of events based on Tides and available dates and not to individual requests although they do try and accomodate members wishes

After much grovelling and pleading i've managed to find another pilot to cover me on Saturday, i've got to go in on Sunday now instead and cover his work.

That means Play-hooky will be signing in for the comp with Gordon Moore as crew, Please don't cancel unless there is a tornado

Sorry for the late call guys - another tough decision, so left it as late as possible.

 

COMP IS OFF - POSTPONED UNTIL SAT 23rd AUGUST

 

Sorry chaps. Metoffice are giving SSW 4/5 sea state moderate. Wave height 1.2m and with the quarry being Bass, I want the usual races and reefs fishable to make it a good comp. If it went ahead most boats would be sheltering inshore.

Shame, I was looking forward to my first comp.

With all the debate going on about wether the comps. should be held on a Saturday or Sunday and with more of us reaching retirement, I reckon we should think about holding the comps. mid week! Much quieter on the water without the Birmingham navy tearing about!

Right, plans finalised so I should be able to make the revised date. I will be in Madeira in between so should be refreshed and ready for the fray. If anyone is going to be looking for crew, I will watch with interest as I will probably not have time to prepare my own boat beforehand.
