Jim Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 If we don't ask, We'll never get an answer. My son Steve. Club name The Slythe Has a Vauxhall Vectra Diesel ( S regd ) The fuel injector is cream crackered. This seems to be a common fault. He has been quoted about Quote
plaicemat Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 The best way is to go to a diesel engineering establishment (supply, repair, recon) and ask for a reconditioned unit. If you mention cash, they sometimes have one 'under the counter' that hasn't gone through the books. Not that I condone this practice in any way. I have a very amenable chap locally so, if you can give me the part number, I can get you a quote to either give you an idea or get one for you. Not ideal, I know, as I live a fair way away but if it is a decent saving, it could be worth it. Terry. Quote
plaicemat Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 If this is any help, though, you'll need to be quick as I'm off on hols Monday. Terry. Quote

Coddy Posted August 8, 2008 Report Posted August 8, 2008 If it is any help have a look here http://www.dieselbob.co.uk/injectionparts.shtml He seems cheaper than you have been quoted. A lot of people on another forum (Transits) use him and had no complaints. Coddy Quote
