Paul D Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 This Sunday, weather willing, will be the Lure Only Species hunt. The scoring will be same as per our normal species hunts. Fish have to be caught on lures only. ( so 4 mackeral to start I guess ). NOTE : There is to be a prize for this competition which will be funded by the website proceeds. ( Likely to be a tackle voucher from Poole Sea Angling Centre ). ===================================== Myself and Paul Rowcliffe will be fishing on Neo Quote
britboard Posted August 12, 2008 Report Posted August 12, 2008 I'm in! with some buddies onboard, so fishing alone in respect of comp. just to clarify as long as its caught on something artificial it counts, right? Simon L Quote

Adam F Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 Good to see a few people booking in. The forecast isnt too hopeful though - the weekend is sandwiched by strong winds and heavy rain I'll pop a decision on here on Sat. Cheers Adam Quote
Mike Y Posted August 14, 2008 Report Posted August 14, 2008 I think this was raised last year so apologies if I should know this but for feathers, hokkais etc. how many hooks are we allowed to use? There was also some discussion as I recall about GULP synthetic baits etc. what was the ruling on those? Mike Quote
britboard Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Can someone post up the rules for this comp as i'm unsure as to what is legal as regards what defines a lure? are eddys and Gulps allowed etc hook allowances etc. Also if anyone is short of a boat, i've got room for one more as someone dropped out, send me a PM if interested Thanks Simon L Quote
Maverick Martin Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Dean and I will be out on Awol As I remember the rules are the same as all our competitions ie 2 hooks. This doesn't stop you having a full set of feathers as an atractor so long as only 2 hooks are complete with bend and point. Lures should not be enhanced with bait as it is a lure only comp. I would guess that the like of gulp is an added attractor and shouldnt be used but I am not 100% on that. Any clarification Adam & Co Martin Quote
Coddy Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 (edited) Martin You may recall that at the AGM we increased the number of hooks to 3 for comps this year. COMPETITIONS WILL BE FISHED INSIDE CLUB WATERS [WEATHER PERMITTING] AND ARE FISHED FOR OVER ANY SEVEN HOUR PERIOD BETWEEN 0600AND 1800 UNLESS SPECIFIED THIS IS TO ALLOW MEMBERS TO ADJUST THIER FISHING TIMES TO SUIT TIDES, LAUNCHING ETC. ALL COMPETITIONS CAN BE FISHED WITH A TOTAL OF THREE HOOKS [Pennel Rigs and Trebles hooks count as ONE] AND A MAXIMUM OF TWO RODS [One & Two hooks per rod if using two rods]. NO OTHER RODS ARE TO BE IN USE WHILE FISHING THE COMPETITIONS. Coddy Edited August 15, 2008 by Coddy Quote
Maverick Martin Posted August 15, 2008 Report Posted August 15, 2008 Thanks Dave Seems like our competition details are in need of updating, take a look http://www.pbsbac.co.uk/modules.php?name=C...showpage&pid=62 These are displayed on our fron page link Martin Quote
