Coddy
Hi Well it is only 4 weeks to Christmas and thought it might be a good idea to start a thread with a wish list of suggested/like presents for us fisher persons and boat owners. You could include a link if you have something specific in mine so you can point those who might be interested onto the forum and get the information. At least it is better that looking out of the window at all the cr*p weather at the week-ends! You never know Santa might even bring you what you want this year! plaicemat
Those sort of presents will be late for me this year, like Easter. We are visiting family in Florida then so it makes sense to wait until then. But I am making a list. Terry.
great white
Good idea Dave I am thinking of replacing my camera It is mainly used onboard and on holiday Not sure wether to go for: a compact like Gordons [Casio ex-Z8] which seems to take good pictures The upgrade of that type of camera with 10Mp [Casio S10] One of the smaller/cheaper digital SLR with a bit more zoom like the Fujifilm S1000FD. Thoughts and advice from those of you that know more than me on this subject woud be appreciated. Charlie

Rob
Charlie - That Fuji is not a true SLR - just looks like one! I had one of the previous cameras in that range and I was pleased with it untill it packed up (but lasted 5-6 years). Look here for an independant review: http://www.trustedreviews.com/digital-came...ePix-S1000fd/p1
britboard
I recently bought an Olympus 1030sw, a great little waterproof pocket sized camera and completly bullet-proof so far. 3 year warranty, 10.1mega-pixel, waterproof to 10m, shock-proof if dropped from 2m and crush-proof to 100kgs. basically Boat-Proof camerabox.co.uk i can recommend the above company as i have used them loads and their prices are always good. Barney
PJ You could always ask Terry to pic you one up whilst he is in florida. I spent some time in the Bass Pro shop in september. To much to look at Too much temptation to bring stuff home. A nice new prop for the warrior half price compared to home 2 nice 6-12lb ugly sticks
great white
Thanks for the imput guys and the contacts to source them I realise that the bigger one is not really an SLR but I did not really know how they describe them. what I was after was others thoughts on if to get that type to give better zoom and lens and a few other features or a small compact with a good pixel count. that would be easy to use on the boat. Jim
Hi Charlie, I just use my phone. 5 Mega pixel camera. - Movies etc. Fitted a charger to the boat so plenty of battery life. Great for snaps but if you want proper pictures with zoom etc, you have to buy a proper camera. That waterproof - shockproof sounds good.
