Big tides again over the long easter weekend.

But who is going out, when and what do we think are the best targets in these tides.

I am working Sunday so that should see the wind drop for the rest of you ohmy.gif

But the boat went in today so I expect we will sneak out somewhere

Tight lines

I'm seeing Sat. as the best day weatherwise...... and socially....... for a trip out.

Tides don't look too massive to me....... and hoping they suit a bream session on the Ledge.

I expect many others will be trying the same, so will endeavor to get there early!

No firm plans, nor arrangements with others !!.........happy to go on my own, unless someone would like to join me??

Alun.

Just a casual 70 mile round trip then... Though if you are talking about the wreck I think you are, it is one I have always wanted to try. Is it as productive as legend has it?

Are there not a huge amount of wrecks @ 35 miles out? The only way you will find out is to tail Quest II and \ or put a tracking device on Tom, good luck!!! ph34r.gifph34r.gif

This one in particular is just over on the French side, fractionally closer to Weymouth than here (so maybe 38 miles from here).

This wreck is a legend, but I've never seen a private boat on it, although I was joined by Silver Spray over it once. Silver Spray's anglers promptly battered it senseless with a load of pirks and caught nothing whilst "we" hauled fish after fish.

This wreck has produced, Ling, the fish that can't be named, Pollock, Bass, Coalfish and even John Dory. All on shads / storm lures.

Without fail (touch wood), it has always produced the fish that can't be named and it has always produced Pollock to at least 14lb usually bigger.

This wreck's numbers, whose name I know well has only ever been shared with a couple of most trusted club members and I know they have barely given it a passing look.

This wreck shall remain nameless, but if you want to see if you have the right name, PM me which one you think it is, along with it's numbers and I'll tell you if you are right.

Nice game

We hope to go out late morning Sat and try for early bream to the West, maybe pushing out a bit[??] around slacker part of the tide.

Would love to have come with you Tom>

But not sure where you will be by the time we set off, as we need to wait until Dan finishes his driving lesson at 11.

PM me the numbers and I will see if I can find you biggrin.giftongue.giflaugh.gif

Just three of us going so I have room for another.

If anyone fancies it call, pm or post.

Fished the ripps today and to say the tide was ripping would be an under statement it was like trying to fish a washing machine , so we soon put a stop to that idea and steamed south for another 18 miles. With 8 anglers on board we had just over 80 pollack and no "COD" with most of the fish 30-50 turns up and all were caught on live eels. The weather conditions were fair if you dont include the rain and the ground swell which was making the ships bury thier bows in the morning but by mid afternoon the conditions were great for the steam home.
