Just because I can...... tongue.gif

....... I thinking about sneaking in another trip to Alderney in the next few months. Probably just a 3 dayer this time, and no wrecking, just straight over for the bass / flats and then straight back.

For my diary, I'm looking at early July, either the first or second weekend.

Anyone else fancy buddying up? JV will probably have Bob and Alun onboard.... Bob's keen to see the white hedgehogs.....

I tend to go when things like tides, weather and 'the urge' all fall into place...

planning these things in advance is vastly overrated - keep the boat fueled and shipshape to see more days like this overr there ........

the fish will be there for a few months yet (although maybe not in the numbers we saw this trip)

bass become a pest from July!

overall we were very very lucky with the weather and conditions for the 4 days...

Ah god not again! Well I guess there's a slim chance.

Do you mind if we wait for a really bad forecast for the crossing? Anything less than a 5 and it wouldn't feel normal rolleyes.gif

What with the 48 hr and the weymouth trip even I would be pushing the FPO if I mentioned alderney again.

But if the weather is right maybe resisting would be hard. tongue.gif

Charlie,

Alderney works great for the 48hr - just ring in your results before heading back on Sunday evening!

(and this without looking at the tides for that weekend so if they are big forget I mentioned it.....)

Tides for that weekend look good for Alderney; as we go to neaps they get smaller through the weekend.

If anyone is thinking of going over, I'm available to crew and share costs [and keen to repeat the great time we had three weeks ago !!].

The 48hr comp is now a possibility for me - family arent coming down now, so weather allowing, I'll be making a 3 day trip to Alderney. Plan to leave early Friday, come back Sunday.

I would be available to crew if there's a space going, only proviso is that I have to be back for a hospital check-up appointment on the Monday; i.e., return Sunday.

Any offers?

Right - weather depending as always, I'll be going over for the 48hr comp.

Plan A would be to leave early to make the most of the day and steam straight over, fish Sat and then return Sunday.

I'll start a list to get an idea of who wants to come. I'll stay onboard again, but others will need to make own arrangements for accom.

Thanks for the offer, Dave. I'm off to Munich at the crack of sparrow fart tomorrow and returning Sunday night. O/k to give you a call next Monday? Let's just hope for good weather.

No problem.

Seems this trip will be harder to get off the ground than the one in May.... wink.gif

1 possible space on JV up for grabs then...
