Brian
Any opinions on the above package?
Adam F
If it's tidy then it's about the best package you will get IMO. The Susi 70 and the Etec 70hp are the two engines to look for on the 165. How many hrs on the engine?
Brian
Adam It'll all be brand new, direct from Warrior.
Adam F
Oh good! In that case depends on whether you want a super smooth quiet engine or something a little more simple, longer servicing intervals and a bit more power for the hp in the Etec. My choice would be the Susi - but Ive been mightily impressed by the etecs.... personal choice. Great combo whatever you go for, you wont regret. Extras to opt for: Go for the pedestal seats, not the boxes - you get more deck space and you dont need the extra storage. Make sure it has the radar arch fitted - very handy for locating ariels etc. The sliding canopy and the rear rod rest / bar are nice extras but can be made sourced locally for alot less than warrior charge. A pair of 25l quicksilver fuel tanks are better than one big unit that Warrior supply. The big unit is a bugger to remove and then 2 small tanks are easy to take off and fuel without the boat. Good luck with it.
Coddy
Hi Brian I would go along with what Adam has stated but would add as extras: Gunnel pockets, great for a quick store of bits as you fish. Extra storage area on starboard side under seating area in the cuddy. You may have a choice of an anchor/rope store in the bow or a very large dry storage area under bow, access in the cuddy. A number of earlier models use to leak water from the rope/anchor store into bilge, I should think this has been resolved by now however. Oh nearly forgot, get some decent seats not those cheap ones they are now offering as standard Dave
Brian
Adam/Dave Thanks for your advice. Just got to go to Yellow Penguin tomorrow to see about the servicing requirements, if all ok should be placing the order later tomorrow or Tuesday. Coddy
Brian It is up to you but I could not see the point of those pulpit rails on the warrior, you never stand on the bow and apart from looking nice (?) you could use the money towards something else. Just a thought. Dave
Adam F
Agree with Coddy - the rails look nice, but dont do anything. Definatly get the bow storage locker for the anchor warp - they dont leak anymore and are a boon for anchor storage.
