Brian
Hello Kev Welcome to the site, you've come to the right place to get lots of help and info. Why not join the club, you'll get the opportunity to learn much more and probably get invited out on members boats, which will help you decide the type of boat you want. We're a friendly bunch and everyone is very helpfull and you'll get lots of good advice.

biggcol
Welcome Kevin you will get a good trip with True Blue, and this is a bl**dy great club to be part of. I don't know what budget you have but we are selling Boblin as a package, boat, motor, trailer, electonics and other bits. She is a Hardy fast fisher 17' and a nice boat for fishing. She is an ideal starter boat which is why we bought her. The reason we are selling is to make way for our new boat which is on order now. The price we are looking for,is somewhere around
Brian
You won't go far wrong on True Blue.
Maverick Martin
Welcome Kevin, as said before this is the right place for those that are interested in small boat angling in and around Poole, B/mth, xchurch and surrounding areas. You don't need to be a boat owner to become a member and once joined if you ask you are sure to get invites out onto others boats. Steve Porter is the skipper of True Blue and is a really top bloke running a top boat. If you need another opinion about our club ask him, he'll tell it as it is. Also if your budget is around the price of Collins "Boblin" (Hardy 17) then have a look. I owned one for seven years and had no end of fun with mine. Coddy
Hi Kev Welcome to the clubs forum. We have all started at sometime with boats, some have gone on to bigger and better craft others have stayed small and some have even gone to paddle power i.e. kyaks! Whatever your budget do allow enough for safety equipement as the sea is not very forgiving. There is plenty of advise within the club and if you join the club you will have an oppertunity to attend safety course organised by the club. Whilst looking for a boat, I would suggest you get to crew on as many boats as you can so you can see yourself what works for you and if you like the idea of owning and running your own craft. If you want ideas or thoughts about craft have a look at my website, there is a link in my signature. Take the plunge and jump in and you will find that work is just a means of paying for your fishing! Dave
Member Removed
Many thanks to all for the help so far. I did own a small 14ft boat last year, but had to sell due to other commitments, all said it was good to get to grips with and learn a few basic tips, all in all i was so nervous to start with, dont think it helped when the outboard cut out and the current started to carry me very fast in christchurch harbour, but like they say 'you have to make mistakes to learn by them' At least i did bother to get a free boat check and advice from the local RNLI (very helpful people) all said tho, i will be joining very soon, and would appricate if i could go on a few trips with local people, dont worry im more than happy to chip in on fuel and supplys. just very keen and willin to learn new skills as im a total newcomer. Paul D
Kevin, I assume you are down the road from me - I am based in Christchurch and often looking for crew. Can recommend joining the club as you will gain a whole wealth of information and learn how to be safe. Paul
Gnasher
theres a little open top dory, looks about 15ft or so, outboard in fairly good nic on a trailer on the roadside in Hordle, near Lymington. Its outside Stuart Balies Tool Hire on the roadside. I think its up for about 1100 but worth an offer of around 700. perfect for in and around the bay. its only 15 min drive from you so worth a look.
