Good morning BassDaze, my name is Mal and I run Y-KNOT out of Christchurch. We fish mainly to the Needles some times beyond and we are out quite frequently. We look further afeild on neap tides but as yet not done one this year. If you see a Marlin 695 give us a call up on channel six. Iam also on the committee and the safety officer for the club, if you need to get a VHF license and obtain an mmsi number and call sign I can help with that or if you want any anchor demos we can help with that to. Are you familiar with Christchurch in the winter months when the channel markers are removed??2 points -
I think we had 8 Blues, 1 Porbeagle, no mackerel!!! 50 squilion gurnards (3 variations) 4 whiting - one sizable - and a prize for me, first blue 75 then PB 100, first haddock 1.5 then PB 2.5. It's early yet, so for 4 blokes with totally even takes on their own gear!!!!!! THIS WAS PURPLE!!!!!! I am bouncing off the walls........................ anyone know a good 'shrink' π2 points

Well done everyone for braving the conditions! The prize for winning this competition will be presented at next years dinner dance / presentation evening. Please could you put your fish in the record your catch section - to save me going through each one and trying to work out the specimen sizes My initial analysis shows that the only 100% specimen fish and therefore the competition winner is Jan Tryska - Spotted Ray 5lb 8oz - 100% Specimen1 point

Firstly: Thanks Martin for another fantastic day out on Madness. The weather Gods were smiling too. Flat calm and sunshine. Martin had the 2 Blondes very close together and in a strong tide he was " Cream crackered " They looked a lot bigger than mine on the way up but turned out to be a bit smaller.1 point
