The young uns now think they're being green & ECO when they stop at the lights and the engine switches off ! I had those cars 40 years ago. Viva, Chevette, Hilman Minx etc. The difference being I had to keep blipping the accelerator in a desperate attempt to keep the flipping things going when I stopped at lights. Ahhhhhhhh! The good old Days. I called the Chevette " KIT " Not cos it was like Knight Rider but because it was always in bits.

I had one of these. White like this. Drove it on a motorbike license. ( Even the police didn't know if it was legal or not ) It was so rusty the rear axle moved when I pulled the handbrake. My dad got his mate to weld it for me. It was so dangerous cos of the fire risk the sent me away so I went up the pub and when I came home it was done Engine was knackered too. Great fun though I could flip it up on 2 wheels very easily.

I had a Vauxhall Viva hc 1275cc as my first car, I used to stall it regularly at hill traffic lights around Bath, had to get out and hit the starter motor with a hammer, such a chic magnet!!

My very first car was a ford Prefect 3 gears and it had a oil pressure gauge well sporty 😂😂

I use Fuel Set too, had boat 11 years now with no bug, engine is a Volvo D3 160 , it's good stuff!

Aaaahh.......the good old days reminiscing about the old cars! My favourite was my mk1 Cortina Gt, with a corsair 2000e gearbox, Rostyle wheels. Hillman Hunter GLS too, they came out of factory with Holbay engine with twin 40 Webers......went like a bat outa hell Had a 3litre mk1 Granada, going down western Avenue and an old anglia made me look like a snail.....he had a 3.5litre v8 under the bonnet! The good old days eh!!🙂

My mate Boz bought one of these for not very much, it had a De Villiers 250cc engine. He bought it in Winton, drove it down the hill at the end of Moordown followed the road round to the left, proceeded to roll it right across the road onto the grass! got out, left it and walked home. He drove it for all of a mile then wrote it off on the first bend he came to. A couple of days later at night he retrieved the engine, god knows why. It had an electric start which didn't work but there was kick start you could use if you opened the bonnet clambered on top and shove your leg in the innards. That was how he got it started to drive home, quite how someone disabled was supposed to do that wasn't clear... A death trap of the first order.

My first car was a 1937 Morris 8, WITH A SUNROOF! Next came a Singer LeMans drop head coupé, Morris Minor 1000 convertible, Morris Oxford Estate and a Morris Minor Countryman. Great old cars. I passed my test in a Vauxhall Viva HA (with the sporty short gear stick). I wish I still had the Singer, worth a bloody fortune now. Terry.

My first car was an Austin 1100 with 2 nd gear missing [emoji23] which somehow I managed to pass my test in [emoji3061] After that the list is huge mk1 &mk2 cortina’s Several escorts from 1100 to rs2000 Capri 3.0 2x 3.0 Granada’s to name but a few

I had a Ford Cortina mk IV as a company car which featured an automatic choke, wow. It was useless, a starting preventer, if the engine was half warm like after visiting a customer it was 50/50 if it was going to start. I had a set of tools and sprays all ready to get it going again! Gave such a good impression [emoji2957]. It wasn't that great from cold either! Repeated visits to the garage got nowhere, and being a company car I was stuck with it. Finally it did it's 60,000 and got shot of it. And then there was...

hi steve I have a larger boat with a diesel engine the boat is old and when I bought it the guy recommended fuel set and I have had no problems at all with the bug

Careful what you add, I've had my head in a tank due to bug, volvos do not like some additives! R

That's why I chose a fibreglass car with a rugged ladder chassis when in my youthful sportscar era. well it wasn't really a sports car it was the first hatchback a Reliant Scimitar GTE. Looking back on it now it was a pig of a car but I did keep it for 12 years even had the engine and suspension rebuilt and upgraded. What a waste of time . Then along came the kids and the Vauxhall Cavalier FWD....with power steering what a revelation...that turned out to be a pig of a car as well.😩
