Bayliner sold off the Trophy mark years ago. The original Bayliner trophies were lower quality but the newer Trophy (without bayliner prefix) are much better Personally I love that style of boat even with covers. I used to own a Karnic 2460 with covers and she looked after us in all weathers That boat is quite a bit larger than you're looking at but they do a 2260 which is smaller and outboard powered, maybe worth a look. Personally I would not buy a bowrider for fishing as in the rough stuff everything that comes over the bow would go throughout the boat also not a lot of protection for inclement weather. Exciting times especially when the wife takes an interest. Good hunting and do, as you move along the purchasing bus ask all the questions you have here. There's more experience in the club than you could shake a stick at :-)

You just can't beat a fully enclosed cabin especially when its fitted with a heater.🤗 Why do you think I havent got rid of my old faithful ( 22 years young of which 14 years have been my ownership) . and I dont mean the wife..........🤔

My first boat was a new 6m Bayliner 603, basically a speed boat with a 120hp diesel engine. I would not buy another. It needed too much TLC for salt water, the anodising was too thin, the fittings just a little bit too cheap. They are not nicknamed a binliner for nothing. If you just love doing boat care then it's the boat for you! Just my view, somebody else may have had a different experience.

ha yes, the usefulness of those covers is all about relativity. I come from just having open centre console boats, so anything is an improvement! neither am i out in the depth of cold weather!

Thanks for all that, nearly went up to Scotland to look at a boat but pulled away because I think I would have felt obligated. It's so easy to be tempted.

Hi All i agree with Terry i did a fair bit of Poole harbour fishing from a Zodiac and a Quicksilver inflatable powered by a 8 hp Yamaha but not so sure about those????? be safe

Went over to Soutbourne again yesterday. Thought about the ledge for some Bass but I've forgotten everything Alun taught Me. Stayed at Southbourne looking for Plaice & Mackerel. Sea a little less than flat so kept the speed down to 18 - 20 ish Mackerel straight away ( just the one ) then nothing for a while then had Mackerel in little spurts throughout the day. Wen the water went slack Ihad a couple of Doggies followed by a small Starry Smooth hound ( about 10 - 12 inches ) ish. As the tide picked up I had 2 little plaice which went back. Followed by 3 reasonable Plaice. Followed by this one which I weighed at 1lb 12oz A very good day to be out. It looks breezier for the rest of the week so don's suppose I'll be out again. Besides I'm staying out of the Sun for a couple days ! Spoke to a couple who have just bought a Pilot4 same as mine. . . . . . May get a new club member. . . . . . . . I'll see if I can find the CAD files for my Rod Tubes he was quite impressed with them.
