Good effort Stuie, shame you are just over the upper age limit for the junior comp, you would of walked away with a prize with them. 🏆🏆

Blake gave it a go today, with tide lacking all he managed for a couple of hours was whelks and starfish!! We moved onto the patch still very little movement and couldn’t get through the pout and very small bream. He got bored waiting for me to unhook them so I convinced him we could go swimming in studland. Met up with Kev and Kim, ruined their romantic afternoon but cleaned the boat bottoms off while we were there. Cracking day to be out though.

Hi Oli It can be a lovely trip up there, I went a few weeks ago on a Saturday. It does get busy and there is a lot going on in a very small area. There was two Greenslades ferries there when we arrived, they went not long after with some very skilful boat-handling. They are running a couple of steam ferries at the moment from the quayside. There is also the Priory there where you can moor up against if pre booked and going for a meal, very nice. I would avoid springs unless you are only staying over high water. If you keep to speed limits it will take nearly an hour to get there from Stakes but plenty to see, seals are about some times around river entrance. Lovely winter trip out too, nice and quiet, lunch and a pint. Worth giving it a go, everything is slow on the river so watch people’s faces if you leave a wash!!

Fastnet Race Multihulls leaving the Solent. Manta Ray being passed. Leader at the time. Very impressive speeds considering the wind speed. Around 400 racers passed the Needles as the day went on. Where some of the competitors are now.

Guys it’s starting to look like there may be a wooden spoon award for the biggest balls up during a club comp, fish being returned before weighing them, the plaice comp, gutting fish before weighing them, a trend starting to show. And of course plenty have been returned before being photographed during comps! Just thinking out loud. 😳😳

Kingfisher went out today and have to say the correct decision to cancel the cross channel trip, the wind was greater than forecast. We had a delightful slow trip back in and found out the wheelhouse windows need resealing urgently. Mal and Nigel spent the whole trip in mopping up with towels etc as we did a submarine impression for miles! ☹️☹️ Cheers guys. 👍👍
