  1. Nice one Colin I was launching at 4:30am on Tuesday when a cop who had climbed over the compound gate approached me to investigate my activity. He said a neighbour saw my flashlight and then called them. I was delighted but it did make me slightly late with very little water left in the Run PJ

    Holy Mola!

I was suprised how quick they move and i've heard they are capable of giving you a nasty nip This is the pic from last months sighting, i feel lucky to have seen two but they have been about 8 years apart. All you see at first is a dorsal fin that flops about from side to side Moonfish

  8. I agree about trolling being boring, but if you can get them feeding on the surface and are lucky enough to experience a feeding blitz then thats something completley different PJ

Brilliant news, i bet youre chuffed to bits, i would be Youre an example to us all mate, congratulations and well done on getting an elusive double. The fact you released it makes it all the more special, i look forward to seeing the photo's PJ
  10. Great detailed report Tom Perhaps a high pressure hose on the water might bring something up to investigate? PJ
  11. http://www.boat-fishing-monthly.co.uk/chan...10&cate=__10987 It's all hype designed to sell tackle, mags and boat trips. Funny how a Keyhaven skipper claims that Tuna were seen off the IOW, not trying to pull crowds off Weymouth boats then? PJ
  12. I hate to be negative about a good organisation( one i support) but: Guys in blazers holding trophies and pics of dead congers is not a good look. it needs to reflect what modern day anglers are about PJ
  13. My guess is that local Weymouth anglers wont be best pleased by the over reaction and frenzy of anglers this weekend caused by the news. I bet theres a "goldrush" mentality down there at the moment PJ
  14. Good Luck Tom, It should be fun trying and a good excuse to get the tackle out PJ
  15. The ideal rev range for My ETEC 60 is 5500-6000 5750 delivers the full 60hp and im currently running original 17" prop which has been repitched to 16" by prop solutions as i was only getting 5200 revs previously. Not sure how it relates to yours as both engine and boat size and shape are different to mine but it might be of some help PJ
  16. Happy Birthday mate PJ

    Sandeel Trawl

it's a very messy business, lots of weed and not many eels was my last experience with one of the most experineced of Poole charter skippers PJ
  20. I love them almost as much as Jetskiers. as a note of caution to your clients: Yesterday a guy tried to drop his son off at the Run, he got it all wrong and ended up reversing into a boat moored alongside the wall. Not only did he damage the other boat and his own prop, he knocked his auxillary engine off the mount into the water and lost it. This guy isnt a plonker he just got it wrong PJ
  21. Yep, keep off my marks it's too busy already PJ
  22. a good read as usual James Keep up the good work mate PJ
  23. Wouldn't it be great if the freshwater fishery owners could sue to saltwater commercials for loss of income, or at least apply pressure on those responsible PJ
  24. I remember this comp being won within the first few hours of the start on Friday night, 3 miles offshore . I think he spent about a fiver on fuel and could only fish that evening the whole weekend. PJ
