  2. Guys, Please see the C-scope roadshow below and the quote from a friend who attended one already I've been asked by B.A.S.S to rally support from PBSBAC to attend the Swanage meeting to represent the recreational angler. Apparently more than half the attendees at previous meetings were commercial fisherman trying to push their agenda's so it would be vital to readdress that balance with support from US. There will be some knowledgeable B.A.S.S members ( including the chairman) there to put across their views but they need your support by attending. I'll be going so if anyone wants a ride you'll be more than welcome Cheers PJ cscope roadshows
  3. Nice one chaps, i've just been scrolling through some of the old reports. Some of the old boat names take you back - some fond memories contained within those reports PJ

    Garmin repair

I've broken one of the pins on the connecter of my Garmin 250c fishfinder. Can anyone recommend where i get it fixed? Cheers PJ
  5. It should fly with a 17 on it My 60 hp etec came with a 17 and only reached 5200 revs The recommended range was 5000 - 6000 with max hp obtained at 5750. I had the 17 cut down to 16 ( ish ) and it's just right The holeshot will suprise you with the new prop - hang on tight! PJ
  6. It's great to see tv chefs backing and promoting the issues highlighted in the End of the Line film. Well done to channel 4 Tell the missus to check for rod and line caught tags on cans of Tuna - "every little helps" PJ

    Fog Caution!

Got me thinking Colin how nice it would be if you could play us a tune next time we are all rafted up, also what a great back fog horn . I've never experienced the slow update gps issues before last week, it was quite concerning relying on a piece of kit that wasn't functioning properly. I wont be doing it again by choice and thanks to the input here i'll be even better prepared if i get stuck in it again PJ
  9. Thanks Guys Im having a good day playing with my new truck, any one want to buy a hilux surf? I usually fish on my birthday but went yesterday instead due to the weather, it was lovely out but the fishing was crap. I might go tomorrow but the swells have put me off fishing the comp. Reaching 50 makes one think a bit - mostly like how the f...k did i get to be 50! One comforting thought though... i'll never be as old as Martin or Jim All the best PJ
  10. A sight for sore eyes that is Bob well done matey PJ
  11. A tough one this, mainly due to a failing memory. Top 4 are perhaps: A 10lb 8oz bass on a surface lure a couple of summers ago. A red letter day on the flatties aboard Tiger lilly - 6 Turbot ( best 14.5lb) and 2 brill ( best 11lb 2oz) Being awarded the conservation award from B.A.S.S A trip to Cape Cod catching Stripers and bluefish off the shore PJ

  17. Very slow today with no cod bites and only 2 whiting. There seems to be a lull in the action over the last week or so and it's back to working hard for them again. I hope you all prove me wrong this weekend, but i'd keep your expectations low PJ
  18. Happy Birthday Rob PJ
  19. No cod for me today. I had to get back in early due to the bar at Mudeford but i told my neighbour boat Boblin to stick it out for another hour if they could. sure enough i got a text saying they had 2 Cod just after i left PJ
  20. Good post Dave, It's the same with any tool; in the wrong hands they can cause damage. If used correctly the boga can cause less damage than a net in some cases, It also allows the release of fish at the side of the boat with removing the fish from the water at all. There are plenty of other benefits that are kind to the fish but the point is to be aware of treating fish correctly when they need to be released. Ideally all weighing should be in a sling as hanging any fish on a scale might cause damage to its internal organs. With regards to the survey Any fisherman with half a brain or thought for the fish would never attempt to use a boga on a bonefish so the people surveyed must have been pretty ignorant in my view.
