Plenty of bass for us this morning on live prawn and lures but nothing over 3 pounds - I have struggled to find the bigger bass this year with just one good one of over 7 pounds a few weeks ago. Mike

I'll be out inshore with my brother Dave on my aluminium boat Grajoe on Saturday. I have just caught a few bass this evening but nothing big tonight. Mike

That's a cracker Dan - well done. I'm just off for a go on the Stour at Sturminster - hope I find one even half that size. Either way it will be good to get out and will beat staring at the sea hoping the waves will die down!! Mike
-
Red mullet and gilthead in the same day - well done guys. I just hope the wind dies down as predicted on Thursday so I can get my kids out to get a few fish. Well done Rich - glad you got out with your son. Mike

Sounds like a great weekend Dan - well done. Any pictures of the roach? My target for the year is a 2 pounder but have not got close yet! Having another go on the River Stour this evening. Mike

I think this was raised last year so apologies if I should know this but for feathers, hokkais etc. how many hooks are we allowed to use? There was also some discussion as I recall about GULP synthetic baits etc. what was the ruling on those? Mike

I am hoping so Alan - this is the first week of my two week holiday and I have not been able to get the boat out yet - hoping to have my first go this afternoon and then a full day on the water tomorrow. Not looking great for next week either - very depressing Mike

I'll be out with my brother Dave (also a member) all being well. Mike

I'm taking some kids out mackerel fishing on Saturday but I may be able to sneek an hour or so on the bass so will enter the competition on the off chance. Mike

I have been off all week Adam - very depressing on the boating front. Glad you have made such good progress on your boat though. I am going to try for some trout tomorrow and then hoping for a chance to get out on the boat on Sunday morning. Mike

Dave and Mike Young will be out on Blue Boy all being well. I just hope the bream haven't moved in the last few weeks. Mike

Looks awesome - glad the trailer worked out OK. I am looking forward to seeing the progress over the coming weeks. Good luck guys Mike

My brother and I bought kayaks last year and they are great fun. We are not as adventurous as some of the guys on anglersafloat but we have had some good success close inshore for bass - great fun. This year I have pimped mine out with fishfinder, anchor trolley and nav light so hoping for some success on the long summer evenings to come. Mike

Tom Pity for all your hot Weymouth marks to go to waste! I'll happily look after the numbers for you! Seriously I hope the change of venue works well for you and look forward to hearing the catch reports! Mike

I had a cracking day on the upper Stour on Friday after roach and chub - a few pike showed up too - seemed to be a good day for them with a bit of clarity in the water. Glad you got out after the pike Rich - not long before those early bass! Mike

Have a very happy birthday Martin Mike

Had a great day out on a charter out of Keyhaven yesterday. We parked a couple of miles off the Needles and had a relatively constant stream of fish all day. No cod unfortunately but 3 eels plenty of dogfish and pouting and some decent whiting for the pot. Nice to be out on such a beautiful day with the promised strong Easterly not kicking in. Mike

Sorry to be a lawyer but it would have to be set up as an "opt in" rather than "opt out" if you do decide to do this. I'd be happy to look at the wording from a data protection standpoint. I think it is a very worthy campaign and good to see someone like Chris Caines for whom I have the greatest respect behind it. Mike

Glad to hear you are back in action Adam - see you on the water soon. Best Mike

I bought a kayak earlier this year and have really enjoyed it. After much research I settled on a Malibu Mini-X - a very stable but short option and perhaps not best suited for long paddles but neither am I. I have had great success plugging for bass from the kayak and am really pleased with it. I am afraid I am off to the US on business tomorrow (with a striped bass trip in NYC and a salmon trip in Seattle thrown in) but I'd be happy to let anyone have a go when I am back. Mike PS Jimbob your probably saw one of the guys from the anglersafloat forum - they have really cracked the kayak fishing.

Still got the 195 and would buy another tomorrow if they were still made or if they could get round to finishing the replacement. Looking at two options at the moment - Atlantic Fisher 680 and Cheetah 6.9m - we are slightly limited by the need to come into the beach at Ringstead. Best Mike

Good luck lads - if we get the new boat we are contemplating we may join you next year! Mike

Happy Birthday fella - hope to catch up with you soon Mike
