  1. Thanks that is just the advice I was looking for as I needed to know how to get it looked at inside. So once drained I will go see who has a camera to inspect the tank. Thanks again Malcolm N
  2. Hi people well the boat is out of the water again to hopefully do the final bits to the boat so we can finally get her out and get some fishing done and a suntan. We have at last got the stern power leg off and being serviced, this will at last give me piece of mind that all seals and bearings are fine once replaced, getting the injection pump serviced or new OUCH!!!!!and new pipes so hopefully it will start when it should. Thought I would dip the tank and found a amount of sludge on the stick so will I have to drain all the fuel out or will treatment with the fuel bug do the job as I can't get the tank out as its set in under some beams. I'm sooooo glad I decided to cut a hatch into the deck where the main fuel feed goes into the tank to have a look, the feed pipe was only just on the tank as the clip had failed to the extent when I touched the hose it just fell off so this explains the smell of diesel and why we always had residue so I gues when it was being filled some got in the tank and some in the hull, I got 18ltr out of the hull and into a old oil drum from work. So best fit a new hose to this ASAP. Have you all checked yours lately????

  10. Those you tube videos are great, note to self take a crash helmet with me so not to bang my head in the wheelhouse haha. Definatly charter boat first trip seems a wise choice. Thanks guys Malcolm
  11. I fished the hamworthy and Wessex beach comp on Friday night in all that rain at holes bay, not many flounders caught amongst the 20 people fishing, two flounders with a total weight of 5lb 2oz won the event and I came second with the biggest flounder of 3lb 9oz using rag worm. I have a nice picture of it full of eggs that I did return, can't upload pics on here as I'm not clever enough but if I can email someone that can put it on for me will be gratefull Good luck all on Sunday Malcolm
  12. I want to take our boat to Alderney this year but as I have not made the crossing before I thought I will go on a charter boat there first, keep hearing stories about a big patch of swell so I need to see this first and know what to expect when we take our own boat. I am currently booked on Rapid Fisher charter boat for a four day trip to Alderney leaving on Monday 29th of April, it's a
  13. Just had a bad thought, what would of been the out come if the marine camp was breached and the wrong people got in there????? Malcolm
  14. Security is Realy bad, I regularly walk my dogs at 6:15am down at rockley and park near the slipway just as I did this morning. I have never been aproached by any security for over 2yrs asking why I was there, all I see from time to time like this morning at 6:30am is a Poole council van emptying the bins. Some one must of heard them in the early hours as when I was there it was so quiet you could hear birds landing in the trees. Rockley should take some responsabily surely for the thefts to happen, think every member should get some of this DNA smart water weather you have an outboard or inboard but I'm sure everyone has a radio atleast that can be marked for such a small amount of money. My sympathies to all that lost their engines and had damage caused. Malcolm
  15. Hi guys firstly merry Christmas one and all. Well I have Boat fishing monthly magazine on Facebook, Dave Barnam has just put a report on saying they have reports from a very reliable source that a 82lb cod was caught in a commercial gill net in the Thames estuary last week and he is just waiting to get some pictures sent to him of the beast. Have a great Christmas and tight lines in 2013 Malcolm N
  16. I will be fishing in the poppy appeal beach competition so I will be the one with the sad face due to fantastic weather for boating and not able to run engine still, but hey I will wave to those leaving rockley park wishing them gods speed and good catches as rockley beach will be my venue for the day!!!
  17. Hi Chris I saw you out there as I was on charter Rapid fisher again beautiful day and 30+ doggies landed on the boat, small spotted ray, after moving back west we did manage 4 lovely whiting and more doggies. Highlight of the day was on the way in just off sandbanks we had a pod of 10-12 dolphins and one pup playing in front and to the side of the boat we could almost reach out and touch them, that made up for not catching any cod but what a fantastic site to see.
  18. Managed to get on rapid fisher for a trip tomorrow so hopefully get some cod sooner than I thought
  19. Thanks for coming down yesterday Mark and trying to get it to start, it's a bit worring that when it cranks over you said it sounds totaly different since mermaid have touched it and still does not fire. Were so blooming mad with mermaid and can see the cod season slipping away this year, but I do get a bash at them on the 25th as booked on with my old charter boat buddy Rapid fisher, I will start to use the large amount of squid I have. Niggles mate Richard is comming out next week to inspect and do a full report on the work been carried out by mermaid as they say they want to completely rebuild the engine for

  22. Hi Yes it's a diesel and has the electric solinoid, I took engine box off and pushed the leaver into the solinoid to try and stop it and this and it didn't have any effect, maybe as I was not in the cab trying to push the stop button at the same time. So I was beging to wonder how to shut it down so I just turned all power off and it stopped, I have no idea how or why as I don't know enough about diesel engines YET but will be doing a course soon. Going to give Nigel's contact a call tomorrow as he is very highly recommended.
