Take a nice or interesting photo and post it below . To give a photo you like a vote press Like( like only counts) Here in Valencia you choose the fish in the restaurant and they cook it for you. A 10 euro gambas tasted surprisingly like any other gambas!

I had the day booked off and was going to launch at Kimmeridge, but the weather was windier than originally forecast so Poole harbour as my back up. Launched at Baitor and headed for the secret Gilt head mark. First cast and a fantastic fighting 2lb4 5 more throughout the morning and finished with a 7th at 2lb 4. Dozens of bass, best around 1.5lb A great morning session and good to see they’re getting bigger in our manor. All fish returned.

The smaller ones are a great scrap. Like a smoothie. I’ve caught a few now with the tails removed. I believe the trawler men cut them off and throw them back. I always wear gloves and slide them into a large mesh laundry sack from the water to keep them contained . You don’t want that whippy tail anywhere near you. I believe the sting can kill and rot the flesh? Glad it paid off, now to find the big ones!!!

Glad you found them. I’ve heard of a 75lber coming out this year from Lepe!! They put up a great scrap and although they look small they are so solid /thick and pull all over the place. Tempting me out again! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Poole Bay Plaice Chase 2022 The kayak fishing competition returned for the eighth time , after a two years break, as the weather and sea conditions allowed it. Taking place from Sandbanks beach the kayak anglers set off onto fairly calm seas with light winds, although bitterly cold, in search of early Spring Plaice. Thirteen anglers chose their preferred technique, wether inshore, further out, drifting or anchored, and fish were soon being reported. Poole Bay Small Boat Angling Club who facilitate the competition, had a volunteer support boat in attendance in case of any difficulties, and unfortunately an angler capsized and had to be assisted onto the boat and warmed up before being brought back to the shore with most of their equipment. Another rod and reel to Davey Jones. A great job by the support boat, Looby Four. After 5 hours all of the competitors had returned to shore for the measuring of the Plaice, with eight anglers offering a fish up. The winner was Stephen Henry, “Lureman” , a regular to this event, and his name will be added to the Cam Clearie Trophy that is on display in Poole Sea Angling Centre. A big well done to Lureman and all of the competitors and PBSBAC members in attendance. The Plaice Chase returns in 2023
