Hi All what a great day on the water with Norman and his Son Dave (Not in the comp) Dave had 4 species that did include the only Red Gurnard on my Babby. Norman had 5 Species Dogfish, Pout, Bream, Ballan and baillon's , Me 13 Species Spotted Ray, Dogfish, Conger, Tope, Mackerel, Pout, Goldsinny, Poor Cod, Baillon's, Bream, Goby, Corkwing, and Rock Cook. All in all a great day I owe Dave a drink as he shouted just as my Tubertini was going over the side with the tope, that will teach me not show Norman how to rig up for Tope.

My Baby Norman and me Sunday is looking the best day in the Harbour ? -
That's the second time out with jerry in as many weeks and two cracking days fishing. Not only was the fishing good the tea was also superb we didn't run out this week. Chris kept Norman on the straight and narrow and made sure Norman and Jerry tangled them selfs and left me out of it, oh I do love my Tubertini up tider. Next time the cod better look out.

Wet but great day, lots of banter, lots of fish, and that dab moved Jerry up the leader board in the species hunt. First time in Jerry's new boat just superb. Many thanks to Jerry for the invite.

We lift and clean over a 1000 boats a year by far the best colour is black, not as pleasing on the eye as some colours but rarely do you see black anti foul with large amounts of growth. Some will have an allegiance to a brand but to be honest if it is black and you stick to the max speed limit that the manufacturers state on the tin you wont go far wrong. Good choice of marina, not sure about the council estate tag that Kev's given it, welcome to quite simply the best marina within MDL and probably the worllllllllllllllllldddddddddddddd

Jerry many thanks for a great write up. I had a great day with great company on a superb boat. It was just one of those days for me, it all just happened as we planed, with one or two bonus fish which makes the difference if you are going to win. For the Dogfishdave comp a great result to have a new name on the trophy, we all fished hard, moved when we had to, we had a plan that worked, well nearly all apart from the secret ray mark, I think the secret is out as we had no rays, so I think we need another secret ray mark, a certain Mr Thomas has one. We raised £200 for Julia's House which will be added to the money raised on our summer party on 22nd of this month. Tickets on sale this week £6 a head, all boats berthed at Cobb's welcome book early.

A great report Jerry many thanks for the support. It was a superb day and was just great to fish with new like minded team members. Have to say I found it hard going just one of those days. Ryan was joint top skipper along John Stevens the winning team was also on our boat with our 26 points and the 36 they got Ryan received what he deserved top skipper. A big thanks to Neil, Kev and Jerry for giving up a work day to go fishing, will be doing more of this sort of thing to thank the boats that support the marina with our comps. One thing I am thinking of, is for MDL to hire two commercial boats Ryan will be one of them, putting 8 anglers on each who have boats in the marina and just having a day out fishing as a group of berth holders who enjoy fishing. If I have the take up I will organise this, let me know if interested.

Dredging Operations MDL Cobbs Quay Marina 7/11/16 for 1 month
dogfishdave replied to Oli's topic in In The News
The notice to Mariners state a month it is hoped to be completed within 2-3 weeks this will depend on the weather. We don't have a license this year to dump the spoil in the harbour, it is much more expensive as well. -
Good luck Fred fingers crossed for the weather

Great to see you out at last, it looked like your boat was just another floating caravan for a while on its berth.

Thank you all for my birthday messages I think a fishing trip is in order.

Many thanks for all those that took part in the comp on a breezy Saturday, the wind was from the SW with a flood tide so was a bit lumpy but was fishable. Some stats for you. 41 anglers took part in 13 teams on 12 boats (3 boats dropped out on the day) two teams were on Anchorman from Hythe, a total of 25 species were caught with Fred Smith 1st catching 125 point worth (21 Species) 2nd was Brighty 99 points (18 species) Cobb's Quay berth holder with me on board, 3rd was Mike Fox 97 points, if you took part and would like to know how you finished give me a call in the marina. Not a single fish was weighed in for the specimen side of the comp. Many thanks to the Cobb's Quay Yacht Club for the food and hospitality. The charity is better off by just over £500 so a big thanks to all those that entered special thanks to Mike Fox and Fred Smith who donated there prizes for an auction to raise more funds for HOW. Thanks to the sponsors MDL Marinas, Navionics, Alderney Angling, and Christchurch Angling centre. -

Well looks like I am first to respond to Fred have to say it was a lot more fun that watching England play Island. Any way back to the fishing, great day bloody hard work though. It was great to see Chris beat my record of 11 sets of gear lost to Neptune. As always the boat performed like a dream and im still getting over two acts of charity from Fred the donation to the Charity of the boat I understand, but he actual bought breakfast now I know he is not well. The text on the phone welcome to France may be an issue as we forgot tell the french we were coming. A big thanks to Fred for a great day, a big thanks to Mal for being the boats comic, thanks to Kev for showing us all we have been wrecking all wrong, for all these years, lastly thanks to the shark for giving Fred an excuse for catching no fish all morning.

You have to much time on your hands Fred with these reports, perhaps you should speak to Jim whilst in FRANCE about becoming a journalist for his new magazine.
