Hi guys iv been keeping a little bit of a secret, and that is im getting a new boat. Its a shetland saker 185 cruiser ltd edition, shes 6.2m long, is a four berth, and has a yamaha 60hp on the back, both the boat and engine were made in 2002. The normal saker was built between around 1986 to 1996 but shetland decided to rerelease around 12 limited editions in 2001 and 2002 and this is one of them. I wanted to get the lastest model of the shetland family 4 for quite a while and then saw this one which is basically the same but bigger and has a hatch at the front for anchoring which is really handy. I went to view her a couple of sundays back with emma and have just sold my 535 which i managed to do in just 2 days so im now ready to pick her up on sunday which we both cant wait for. It doesnt come with a trailer so i managed to keep mine for the new boat The boat and engine has had an easy life just going up and down the Norfolk broads. I went to blue anchor last year whilst on a camping hoilday to do some shore fishing and didnt catch a thing, must of been using the wrong bait. well done steve.

My 535 goes well with a 50hp 4 stroke achieving 30 knotts on a good day and plans at about 12. The 536 is a bit heavier than the 535 so I wouldn't get less than a 50hp. I think a 60hp would be ideal. Like rob said it wont be under as much strain keeping the boat going and would probably not use anymore fuel than a 40 would. Rich.

You think thats bad! me and the other half look like a couple of lobsters here on our honeymoon atm in alcudia. 33 degrees today, and barely seen a cloud here yet. Really going to miss this weather when we get back. rich and emma.

Cheers mike, I still get to go on the boat on our wedding cause ill be arriving there by boat, but don't think ill be allowed to do any fishing beforehand, especially in a suit lol. rich.

Id liked to of done this comp and the bbq but getting married on the 21st and then honeymooning after and I dont think emma would be best pleased. Rich.

What a lovely day to be out and managed 8 bream best one to emma which was 2lb 6oz, also managed to catch my first garfish using a float and squid bait. Nice to see lots of club boats out again, a really enjoyable day. Well done everyone. Rich.
