Born in Poole and the youngest member the family of 5 boys, I have been fishing since the age of 8. I used to fish off of one of the jetties at Ham shore. In those days we used to catch lots of eels and flounders in the harbour. How times have changed!

I have seen many changes including the demies of Poole Power station. I remember the outfalls from the power station at Hamworthy Park. Large grey Mullet and Bass use to feed there. And on occasions when the outfalls were turned off large Mullet could be seen caught in the rock pools. Oh what fun that was trying to catch mullet with your bare hands on the very slippery rocks!

I also remember some of the fisherman who used to fish out of their Poole canoes with catches we could only dream of today. One particular fisherman Michael Allard who used to live at the bottom of my road (Hamilton Road) used to deliver flatties by the sink load to our house. they were always live and I remember dad when he came home from a full days work would fillet them and put them down in the freezer.

It was only as recent as 2004 that I bought my first fishing boat (Quicksilver 630 Pilothouse) which I had for 9 years. I now have a Merryfisher 805.

I live in Sandy Lane at Upton with my wife Carol and 10 year old son Bradley. I have been at Cobbs Quay with various boats for about 24 years.
