  1. Every time I think I am catching up he goes and gets another year older!
  2. Thank you chaps. Very kind of you. A very special thank you to Brian who started a special thread too! Working very hard down here in between sleet and hail showers. Bought the buggers cakes and still no respite from making the tea.. even on my birthday! Tom
  3. Hi Jason Good to hear from you! I did get your text a while ago and then promptly lost it. No excuse, I then forgot! Sorry. Hope to see you Thursday Tom
  4. If Quest II goes: We'll take about 120 litres on the evening of arrival or following morning and then a similar amount either the night before heading home or the morning of departure. +/- 240 litres

    Snow go!

Liberal, lefty, tree hugging, pajero driving tosser!
  6. I would prefer B&B, but I still don't know exactly what boat I will be on.... If I am on the one I would prefer to be on then I shall be very comfy onboard.

    Snow go!

Couple of old duffers tucked up in front of the fire with a blanket over the top. Tom Oh no, that's Abbie and myself later tonight.

    Snow go!

It's all but gone down here at the marina, but there was little more than a powdery dusting by the waters edge anyway.

    Snow go!

Their boat is warm, dry and floating.... I feel sorry for the people they are rescuing!
  11. Happy Birthday Martin!!!
  12. Hi Chaps Paul, your generous offer was extremely gratefully received, but I've been looking through the pile of wood I need to chip and there are some fairly hefty logs. Several are between 3 and 4 inches thick and I know your chomper, will pile through the sticks, but think it may have to think twice about the big stuff. Based on that, Adam, please can I take you up on the "Staff Rental" for the bigger of the two chippers on your website for 1 day, next Friday? I've acquired a trailer to borrow, but now need a car with a tow hitch as my new one doesn't have it. ...Don't think that will be a problem and I'll try and borrow one from someone at work. I hope that's OK with both of you. Many thanks for all your help. Tom
  13. Charlie When I was a nipper I used to get lead from tyre centres as the old wheel weights. The downside was you had to fish out the little metal clamps from the molten lead. But, it was free and I got it by the bucket load. Tom
  14. Paul Thanks for the chat on the phone. I'll see what Adam say's about the one he has, only because I have some fairly hefty bits of wood too (me being lazy and want minimal further chopping!). It's very appreciated and I may well take you up on it though as it sounds very convenient. Thanks Tom
  15. Adam you are a star, thanks! Now.... next question, anyone lend me a decent sized flat bed trailer? (How big is decent sized Adam?)
  16. Hi Guys The lovely landlady ahs asked me to cut back the conifers in the front and side of the house and also the hedge down the other side. I had no idea how much debris there would be!!!! Does anyone have a medium / heavy duty wood chipper they can lend or rent to me for next Friday? It would be HUGELY appreciated as I have no idea how i'll get rid of this lot otherwise. Tom

OK they look like a toy, but they work. Tesco had a full colour PAYG phone from Samsung for
  18. ...It's his age. The boys have to collect him from the rest home most weekends and then wheel him down to the boat.
  19. And too good for his own good! grrrr
  20. I know!! Now... what discount do I get? Discount! LOL! You'll need to negotiate that one with Byron. I just sell the boats.
  21. For those reading and not sure who Lemon Sole is: He's hoping to become a junior member of Poole Bay after getting extremely enthusiastic over on Worldseafishing. He has a small rib of his own, but sadly his own family has no interest in boat angling so he needs as much (sensible) help as possible. The obvious difficulty is that as a junior it is very hard for us to simply invite Lemon Sole for a beer at the next club meeting, but I feel positive that we shall all make him very welcome on the forum and with his parents full agreement we shall make him very welcome in the club. Don't lose your enthusiasm Lemon Sole. People are naturally a little cautious at giving over their hard earned marks to someone who is essentially a stranger AND giving them on a public internet site. Get your Mum and Dad to write or come to the club offering their full support for you to join in (and they obviously understand the potential risks) and in no time you'll be catching 50lb Conger and 10lb Bass. Tom
  22. Adam We just happen to stock them in the chandlery!
  23. Depends which boat I am on as at the moment it could be mine, a dirty great big thing or one of two flash sports fisher. Either way, the likely story will be similar to Charlie, without the Conger and probably with zero anchoring. Depending on which boat, I'll be staying ashore. Tom

    ABU

No, but he may teach you how to do it yourself.... I have my fingers crossed he can fix my 13 year old 535GS that has never ever been serviced.
