Good to have you down here at last Shropshire. See you on the water soon! Tom

Go for it Dom I had stacks of them the other night between 40 and 50lbish right at the extreme western end of club waters. In shallow water and lots of tide they are a real handful. Tom

What a beautifully marked Ray, well done.

Hoping to head out for a night session tight inshore after Conger, Huss, Tope and even will have a couple of shark lines and a full on Wedger special rubby dubby trail going. Off this Sunday night so anyone expecting and sense from me at work on Monday, you won't get it.... I'll be asleep in the back office if you need me! Tom

I had received my letter a short while ago and straight away replied with a big tick against option 3. As a club member, option 3 too please. The NFSA do fight our corner and represent us nationally. We can't afford to lose the support they provide all RSA's. Tom

Well done for trying hard and getting something. The weather's been a pig. I've had a shark trip organised all year onboard White Waters in Pembrokeshire. On Tuesday it was looking 50/50. No probs, I'll hold off on booking the accomodation. On Wednesday we got the nod for the trip and on Thursday at the crack of dawn Abbie and I head off towards Milford Haven. We left early so I could show Abbie a little bit of the beautiful Pembrokeshire coastline before booking into our hotel and an early night for the trip in the morning. Thursday was a breezy day in Pembrokeshire, but the forecast was good and so we trundled around the various Haven's and Seaside towns of my childhood holidays. As teh afternoon wears on, we head to a hotel that fishing partner Dave had recommended and we book in and hand over 75 squidlies for the privelage. At that point I get a call from a prospective customer who happens to have his boat in the Marina that the hotel over looks and so I head down to meet him and nose around his current boat which is his planned px. Abbie heads to the hotel room for a shower and a read of a book. Stood on the quayside right where I will be stepping on White Waters the following morning I am chatting away to my customer when the phone rings. "Tom, it's Dave. Tomorrow's cancelled. shipping forecast is 4 to 5 Norwest occasionally six, moderate to rough or very rough" I bet it was rough last night based on that forecast! How gutted was I. I went back to the hotel room, woke Abbie up, packed the bag back up and drove the 4 and a half hours back to Poole. Our trip cost: Two tanks of fuel in the truck and 536miles A hotel room for the night which I was too grumpy to stay in A shed load of bits and bobs on the tackle front A seasons anticipation waiting for it to happen. Dave promises that we'll get out, I can't wait for it to happen as White Waters is the UK's best known sharking boat with hundreds of Blues and many Porgies every year. Lots of Blues into triple figures and some topping 200lb. Don't know when it will be as tieing up my diary with his is a little like finding rocking horse poo. Isn't the weather cr@p! Tom

No not a comp, but I may be persuaded to take a couple of fishing grockles out on my boat...

I have a Formula 15 which has been out on a couple of trips, but I don't think ever seen the water (tell a lie, it came sharking and that was the closest it got to salt - no takes). It's loaded with 65lb braid (I think) at the moment... Make me an offer Trevor, bare in mind it is mint and I'll still have the box somewhere. Tom

As mentioned on WSF, I'll be up for at least a couple of days!

Some time ago a couple of guys bid quite a large amount of money (

Just got back to find this email from one of my customers. His brother in law (Cedric and friend Norman Tweedle) were fishing aboard Ian Burrett's boat "On Yer Marks" in Scotland when they landed a monster tope that gave a weight / length best guess of 104lb. The fish would have smashed the British record, but she was released unharmed. Norman Tweedle was the angler. Email read: Subject: British tope record smashed !!! Date Sunday 5th August. Venue

Dan If you visit one of our friendly competitive websites, http://www.worldseafishing.com/forums and do a general search under Berkley Gulp you will see it is a contentious issue. Quite simply it appears to be absolute pants if fished as the instructions suggest (an alternative to a normal bait) and fished static. If, however, you fish it as a lure, I have had very good results with it. Tom

Yep That's Mark...

HI Paul I wouldn't have said you should have bought an MF! Seriously though. New boats come with niggles, some are simply annoyances you wish the manufacturer would haev sorted before you got it, others are brought on by your own steep learning curve and others are simply a compromise you hadn't seen that you would have to make. It's part of boat ownership and along with all these frustrations the overall experience should be great fun. You will overcome this little annoyance and then sods law says something will develop a little rattle. 6 months of niggles (and that is all they will be) and she'll be perfect for years to come. Tom

Paul The easiest way to empty it is to run the boat with the leg trimmed out a little at about 8 knots. This will stick the nose high in the air and all the water will run aft to where a bilge pump should / would be. Tom

Thanks Paul I think what is ahppening is that my PC has been set-up not to allow prompts. I just had another look and spotted the little message. Here's another try to see if it works....

A Taste of Summer... Grrrr I still can't get images to appear. When I click on "IMG" it tells me "Error! You must enter a URL" Well what on earth of the things above! Edited. Try using the "IMG" button and pasting the url into the prompt. It looks the same on the screen when entering but is subtly different and works. - I edited yours here - Paul

Round will be far more suitable. The water may circulate well, but the fish need to be able to swim comfortably and here they will end up bunched in a corner. These guys are great. http://www.powellmailorder.co.uk They supply the good old blue barrell, but also more aesthetically pleasing white ones and other coloured ones. I think page 353 in the catalogue is a good example.

Sure Am Hoping to and heading SxSE.

Mainly aimed at the old gits who are retired and have far too much time on their hands, but otherwise, anyone who has the day off.... (Also posted in Boat Buddies) First three, if I get three... IF and it's a big IF my Charity (Teenage Cancer Trust donation) crew cannot get the time off on Monday then the long range forecast looks fabulous for a trip to the mid channel wrecks on Quest II if anyone fancies joining me. Costs will be a split of the fuel (Typically
