You most certainly will be. I'll try and get over at least once and I'll buy you that cold one I am sure I owe you.

She certainly is something very special Fred.

Hi Reg I may well be up for it, but I am already planning a foray up there to do an "exchange" fishing trip with a chap from another forum who runs a Skate boat. Let me try and firm up whether that is going to happen or not and I'll let you know. Cheers Tom

You beat me to it Pete. The whole marina is working together this weekend to try and allow visitors to look over as many boats as possible in a real (blinking cold!) environment away from the boat show. As is normal for us afterthe show, we will have a great line up for people to crawl over: Merry Fisher 585 Merry Fisher 625 (Mike&Co's, no entry accept by personal invitation of the owners) Merry Fisher 655 Merry Fisher 695 Merry Fisher 805 Merry Fisher 925 Cap Camarat 545LE Cap Camarat 625WA Cap Camarat 755WA Prestige 32 Prestige 34 Prestige 36 Prestige 42 Prestige 46 The doors will be open on all our boats and staff will be on hand to answer questions. This will also be final weekend to grab a boat show style deal for those that are almost, but not yet decided. Snacks and hot coffee will be flowing and all PBSBAC members and their families / friends will be more than welcome! All the best Tom

Jason If you are buying privately then you can follow the same rules as this, but all brokerage boats are usually purchased, "Subject to Sea Trial and Survey". Typically a 10% holding deposit will be placed once your offer is accepted. This is refundable if teh sea trial proves the boat was not as expected or the survey finds a major fault (small faults are usually negotiated around). When buying, make sure you get proper and a full set of title paperwork. It should include: 1) Original purchase invoice from the first owner (shows VAT is paid) 2) First chain of title. Usually a Bill of Sale from the dealer to the first owner, but it can be in the form of a Builders Certificate. 3) Subsequent chain of title (Bill of Sale from all previous owners to the next one) 4) Builders Certificate. This is a must and is often in addition to the Bill of Sale. 5) CE Certificate 6) Owners Manuals, service history, receipts etc. Any probs let me know and I will try and help. Tom

Now now Mother. Don't let the lad have no more of those fizzy pops.

Oh dear, What about the environment. It's all well and good BBQ'ing sausages on yor exhaust outlet, but Mr Brown won't like those carbon emissions. I bet he recommissions Concorde to fly from Number 11 (maybe 10 by then) to Poole harbour to give you a stern ticking off and raise taxes on Esso Blue to be even dearer than all the rest of our fuels. In all seriousness, in the industry those of us that deal in four strokes really loathe 2 strokes from a resale point of view. I really have no professional justification for it apart from they have next to no value on the resale market. If two identical boats came in to me on px and they both appeared to have been used and treated the same. The boat with the four stroke would be considerably more attractive to me and command a far better selling price. Tom

Jason All used boats should get the once over by a surveyor. You simply don't know what they have been through and how well they are built. It doesn't matter if it is an Arvor or a Sunseeker I would still recommend it. Tom

I am with Alun on this one. I would personally purchase a 4 stroke any day over an E-Tec. This is not based on anything other than a concern as to how they will fare season after season. I don't drive a race boat and so need 2 stroke performance. I'd much rather have the quietness, smoothness and KNOWN reliability of a proven 4 stroke. My opinion may change in ten years time once E-Tec have proven themselves, but if I was buying an outboard again tomorrow it would 100% be a 4 stroke.

Hi Guys I genuinely need a part time boat cleaner. About 6 hours per week. Flexible hours, whenever you want so long as the boats keep looking OK. Ideal for someone who wants an extra income without wrecking their social life. Has a passion for boats. Enjoys working outside. etc etc All equipment provided. Based out of Salterns. Immediate Start

Adam For the record, I think that, on the whole, the Arvor makes a very fine angling boat at a budget. ...A mini charter boat capable of taking you fishing. However I know another brand that gives the normal angler and his typical crew (two or maybe three guests) far more comfort and, in my opinion, is a better thought out boat and superior on the water. This Arvor belongs to a chap who has more boats than he knows what to do with (literally). It is a minter and if anyone is buying one then this is a great example and advertised at about

Jason If you wan't to see whilst underway (why would anyone want to do that?) then come and see our 655 "Marlin". Superb visibility all round, full depth walk around side decks (both sides), sliding door at the helm as well as the usual rear door, acres of fishing space (as good as any Arvor), flat screen glass front windows (no distortion, no scratching etc), flat dashboard at eye level for mounting electronics, deckwash that can be hooked up to a "proper" live bait well, windlass can be fitted... Same sort of price as a 230.... Alternatively, if it has to be Arvor then the one I am selling for my mate does appear almost brand new. Tom

Selling for a friend and nothing to do with work. What looks like a spotless, 2005 Arvor 250AS, burgundy hull. 70 hours running time, usual Arvor features including bowthruster. Lying Poole Any viewing welcome

Hi Guys Driving in this morning I spotted a very nice looking White Shark 205 at the high tide line by the Sandacres Pub, Sandbanks in Poole Harbour. If you own a newish White Shark 205 that usually sits on a mooring in Poole Harbour then it isn't at the moment! As a matter of urgency I would point out that two old wrecks have been washed up in recent weeks within 100m of the White Shark. These wrecks have been, shall we say, "Salvaged" for anything potentially usable so I would guess the White Shark with its nice seats, lovely engine, pretty stainless etc etc stands little chance. If you are the owner then you may want to stop reading this and go and rescue your boat sharpish. Tom

Hi Alun Fishing in the Hamble can be one of the two extremes. Fantastic or absolutely pants. I used to live in the tiny houses right at the public slipway next to Moody's Marina. From the slipway I could catch, Bass, Flounder, Eels, Mullet, Sea Trout . On a boat the world (or at least the river) is your oyster and you should have good fun. Good luck. Tom

.....Mike? Why do they call you Mad Mike? Tom

Mike I may be wrong, but I am pretty sure that Warrior aren't at the show this year. At Southampton Boat Show I was chatting with the Warrior chaps and they said that the cost of London was prohibitive for them and that they weren't bothering. ...in addition I think one or two other brands won't be showing either.

Martin, Was it an Atlantic Fisher that you and I looked over in our few minutes at Go Fishing last year? ...That was the little 480 if I recall?
