Would love to come Martin however I'm a newbie to fishing and very new into boat owning... Lol Maybe next time I'll just sit and watch the reports from you guys and look forward to the pics and videos.

Myself and the wife did quite well as we had never done it before. But we have sat and watched other at baiter for many years, also seen many failures there. All we kept saying to each other was "well we look ok so far"

What's the costing of this trip ?? And do you need a passport ??

Well what a day decided to take the boat out today. Loaded all the stuff you need for a great time so I'm told .... Lol We get to baiter at low tide (good planning eh) have to push the trailer to the end of the very slippy slip way And the boat still isn't floating so push it 10ft more into the water and she floats. The engine which I was worried about starting started second pull, so we was off Got to the pier off brownsea after nearly running aground And the heavens opened so we headed back. When we got back the coastguard was waiting at the end of the slip ..... Uh oh what have I done wrong ??? Thankfully he drove off. So we have succeeded in going out in the boat got wet and came home. So we now know how too or not to go out in bad weather ..... But we did love it and we are looking forward to the better weather. :0)

Been planning out first trip out in our boat tomorrow and all I can hear is rain on our conservatory :0( Spent all week sorting out life jackets, vhf, fishfinder, GPS, new bilge pump hose, sorting out electrics, charging battery, buying 2stroke, buying another fuel tank, buying fuel, checking anchor, buying flushing muffs, connectors, and hose....... And now it looks like the weather looks rough ...... Not a good day today let's hope tomorrow is better

Has anyone got a not very expensive dinghy they want to sell ? I'm after a dinghy between 8ft and 10ft that two people can lift and fit in to use as a glorified tender, well on the big side. Don't mind a bit of work on the wood side of things and maybe a little bit of fibre glassing. Ideally water tight and floats (well the floating part is quite important) Many thanks in advance and fingers crossed

Well bit the bullet and bought myself a new fish finder ( be it secondhand is never been fitted) And a new gps for the boat. So nearly ready to put it in the water for the first time with all the gadgets Also as I've had no luck with the little yammy 2hp I've gone and bought a seagul 40 I believe it's called 2-3hp built in July 1968 that hasn't been run for 10 yrs....... But wait for it ....clean out the fuel tank........flush the carb... Some fresh fuel...... Clean the spark plug....... Wind the starting rope...... Fingers crossed pull rope...... Realise you haven't turned on fuel or primed the carb.... Wind rope again and pull....... And the 46 yr old outboard jumps into life..... Well chuffed.

What's the cost involved ? Mooring, club e.t.c

Well after three hours striping it and cleaning, new spark plug, and even emailing yamaha direct and getting a PDF file of the service manual from them. I still can't get it to go Anyone know of a outboard fixer that might get it going ?

Rob I have no idea . I can't seem to fine anything about it. I have the model and serial number. But can't find any info on getting any spec ???? I am using an iPad so might be that ? As a lot of the sites that say they can find out more info seem to not work

Just got a yamaha p45 2a 2hp outboard engine tonight, might be lemon won't know till morning and I try starting it. Is there anyone on here with a service manual or like a Haynes manual equivalent that I could borrow if I need to take it apart, or anyone know where I can download one online. Also what are they like as engines ? I've seen then on you tube and they look pretty much indestructible and very easy to work on. Any help gratefully apreciated

Oh no now not only being so big and looking like Gulliver in the boat Rob,now I have a label "a plonker in a boat"...... And to top it all it bright yellow ....ARRRRRGGGGGHHHH :) lol

Thanks for the offer on the trips I'll keep my eyes open and ears to the ground. As for VHF radio, it's on the list but first few journeys will be harbour based to start with till the bravery kicks in

Anyone doing this ? Walked round holes bay three weeks ago and there was three hypodermic syringes with needles in the rubbish that had been washed ashore. Got home and phoned the council and they said they was sorting it straight away. Have seen more people there last weekend clearing up stuff. This has sort of put me off helping do this sort of event with my children.
-
Well still haven't put the boat in the water yet haven't got brave enough .. Lol Still on the look out for a small aux outboard. But have met a couple of members which have been very helpfull. Can't believe I missed the monthly meet, but will be at the next one, I also will be joining the club as it's been so nice to get so much info and look forward to getting more . Just need to get brave.

Just realised I've missed the boat jumble at canford magna today. Been waiting to buy an auxiliary engine and thought I'd see what was available. Well that wasn't worth it as I missed it. So the hunt begins again :0(

Wonder if anyone can help? The wife and I went out looking at moorings at various marinas today around Poole, Looked at a couple and they was very mmm well let's say I don't want another mortgage payment . Lol We then ended up at Cobbs Quay ... Well looked great. First we drove around looking lost by all accounts, then ended up in the bar, had a coffee and then ventured into the office. Came out with lots of info, and was given the pass code for (A pontoon) to have a look and the code for (F pontoon) which is where we would possibly be, the very last one so I'm told. Lol Is there any other marinas in the area ? I'm after a little cheaper than cobbs if I'm honest, I know I won't get as good, I don't think, but at the moment price is important. Loving the idea of the boat being secure and the ease of it being in the water. So can anyone help please Or can I have a job at the marina to make my mooring cheaper ?? Many thanks in advance
