  1. Well done Gents. It was great to hear you all on the radio, keeping an eye on each other. Kudos!
  2. I really don't see how an all over cover will destroy the windows?? I have an all-over cover on my boat. It's not a Warrior, but it has perspex windows and if anything the cover is protecting them from UV and frost... It has 'felt' in some places on the inside of the cover for extra protection. Perhaps something similar could be done for the fragile Warrior windows? I'd say give Wayne a call at Cut N Cover and see what he says.

  4. It was an extremely surreal morning! Adam- I hope you've reported the 'sighting' on that sunfish site? Just to highlight- they may be rare, but there were at least 2 of these there! Apparently related to the Trigger Fish, which was once 'rare' around here but are now fairly common if you know where to look Perhaps we will soon class these as common in club waters as Bream, Bass, Tuna and Haddock?
  5. Brilliant! Well done George
  6. Good Work Mr & Mr Burt!
  7. Help! As in the title, are any of you chaps going near Rainham, Essex? If so, would you be able to collect something (4 alloy wheels- no tyres!) for me? All paid for, just need bringing a bit closer to Poole! Please!
  8. Well done Jo (& Rob)! (Mate, I just managed to keep schtum so you could make the announcement yourself!
  9. Welcome to the club!
  10. Thanks All! Mike- Per Ardua
  11. And what's more- he really is Brimingham Navy.
  12. As far as I know it's a military hand signal, which we were taught to mean 'On me' i.e. 'come to me'. Not surprising really as I expect a lot of the forefathers of modern-day outdoor pursuits had a military background. Like Lofty says, hand signals are useful as you can often see a them from a greater distance than a voice will travel, but they are limited to about 300-400m after which you can confuse one hand signal for another. (Remember that old late-night public service coastguard advert? "Oh look, he's waving!") Kayaker hand signals- maybe a good club night topic? Well done Lofty, and well done shaggy haired surfer animal dude!
  13. Just as an aside, and along the lines of it's not entirely the boat, it's also the skipper, that makes a channel crossing safe, it is thought that the smallest of the Dunkirk 'Little Ships' to make the journey across the Channel was the Tamzine - an 18 feet open topped fishing boat now on display at the Imperial War Museum, London. I wonder whether that would have even passed as category C!
  14. Good news Paul! I might be brave enough to inspect mine having seen those photos!
  15. I'm sure you'll get some takers. Plus, what good timing, you've chosen to visit on the weekend of the PBSBAC Annual Open Competition! It's on the 4th of September, watch the forum for details (have a look at the posts for previous years for an idea of what it entails)
  16. Welcome to the club from another Shetland owner!
  17. Well the Shetland Family Four is still available new and readily available second hand at a wide range of budgets... I'm game if you are!
  18. Happy Birthday!
  19. Good news Nige. Is the bleed hole in the thermostat to let air out of the system? The Paj thermostat has that I think. Where did you get your injectors serviced?
  20. So tired that you're repeating yourself!
  21. Nice one Jas, great to have you back in the fold!
  22. Happy Birthday Both!
  23. Good work Jim, I hope we have plenty of nice warm calm weekends this year, so this will be the first of many.
  24. The sight of Small Fry in the car park, without plant pots actually made me fall over. Once recovered and back on my feet I spoke to Jim and Steve, so I can vouch that they made it as far as Baiter slip!
  25. Will an intercooler help engine temps? I thought they improved performance by increasing air (as cooler air is denser) to the turbo (and in turn to the cylinders for a bigger bang), but this will increase exhaust (block/engine bay) temps? If it was a car would you look to improve the exhaust (heat-wrap or even ceramic treatment of the exhaust manifold) and/or have a bigger radiator and improve the airflow past it and/or bigger (Kenlowe?) fan)... but you're the expert Nige!
