  1. Duncan, I am on the case. Very good idea for boat details etc.

Kam, Have a chat with Gordon ( Manic Moore ) - he is looking for an anchor rope I think.
  3. Kam, What type is it - CO2 ?
  4. Gordon, Could be tempted but Sunday might be better day for me.
  5. Eh Bob - we were fishing the "cod highway" on Saturday but I suspect they were taking the bypass
  6. Launched out of Mudeford with Gordon onboard . The tide had pushed out a long way ( heard charter boast remarking on how low the water had got ). Managed to get over the sandbar and off to the gulley along the edge of Christchurch ledge. Wind didnt seem too bad - cold but coastguard were saying F4-5 with 3 inshore. I think it was around F3 or less. They also stated sea state would be slight to moderate. Sea was nothing more than slight. Quite pleasant. Told Gordon how I have yet to blank on Neo ...... I was beginning to wish I had never said that. Gordon then was into something bigger than your average pout ( which he had been catching prior to this ). I though - cod .... but no it was a nice ray ( My ray identification is not too good - I think it may have been a Blonde Ray but then it did have some nice patterning on it more like an Undulate. Weighed the Ray and it came out as 10 lb 8 oz less 1b 8oz for the net. = 9 lb. Gordon has a photo so will wait for him to post this for ID. Meanwhile I eventually caught a grand total of two pout. We tried gulley, further out, further in then back to the same spot where Gordon caught the ray. Charter boat on same spot was reporting poor fishing as well. I hope Sunday is better for you all - but if launching from Mudeford/Wick watch out for the LW ( charter boats said it was something to do with the high pressure ).
  7. Kam, Very impressive, I never realised you could do that. How about a 520 like this one on Boats and Outboards ?
  8. Charlie, Found on the internet - salt water and battery acid..... The resulting combination gives Hydrogen Chloride gas - lovely Sulphuric Acid + Sodium Chloride = Hydrogen Chloride gas For the chemists here H2SO4 + NaCl = HCL + NAHSO4
  9. Must admit I was toying with Sunday - was planning to go to Southend to see the family on Sunday though.

    Dawn raider

Very nice James - I expect to see you flying past as I head out ( No change there eh
  11. Gordon, See post above, I am looking for crew for Saturday ( weather willing ). You are more than welcome to come along ( I have no crew at the moment ). Will be launching from either Mudeford or Lymington. Can't guarantee that we will catch any fish mind !! If you are interested PM me.
  12. Crew needed on Neo this Saturday - thinking of a trip out but will be dependent upon the weather. Any takers ? Currently looks touch and go to me , but I may take a trip out of Lymington if it is rougher in the bay, but what does the solent fish like this time of year ?
  13. Duncan, My daughter is the same. Has to be warm weather and not too rough and the fishing has to be half decent. ( Mind you she is the only one in the family to have caught a trigger fish .... ). Might give her more incentive now there is some competition.
  14. Well, the wipers used on trains to contact the overhead high voltage lines are called pantographs, I assume you are not thinking of getting one of these for BW Based on the above I will guess it is one that pushes up and down as opposed to side to side - only a guess mind and I am sure someone more knowledgeable will correct me.
  15. I think it is around 1999. However, I also think the images may be copyrighted ( you can buy them from getmapping.com )
  16. One one of the football sites I frequent they had aerial photos of football grounds. I played around with the "preview" and found I could get an aerial picture below. Guess where ? Now I am off to find Poole Harbour by air.
  17. Rich, Presume the document you refer to is this baby DEFRA Wildlife Act Review Common Skate also get a mention in the WWF document here. WWF Marine Health Check 2005 Both look like useful reading whilst Coronation Street is on Of more interest is that this is currently a consultation exercise and it is proposed to add the species to Section 5. The National Federation of Anglers is included in the list of consultees ( I hope this is the NFSA and they forgot the "sea" part ) but they are allowing any group/person to respond via e-mail or post. So time to lobby I think, since it also states that the government's position is "Neutral" ( ie. It might not happen .. ) AND It would be illegal to go Skate fishing within territorial waters - ie. Anglers targetting skate. I am sure, however, that most anglers would not argue with this. "Section 9(1) of the act would prevent the deliberate taking, injuring and killing of skates"

Very nice fish indeed. I have updated the web site. I make the fish 138.59 % specimen size
  21. Good to see you had a good trip out Rich and no parking ticket. This reminds me of last year when I decided I would save money and park the trailer and car in the car park around the corner from Wick slipway. I would have saved money if I had remembered to buy a ticket ! - Got back and was landed with a
  22. As the weather is still bad, thought you might be interested in the top 20 search terms which were entered into search engines ( mainly Google ) and got hits on our web site. Some are quite surprising. Also shows how competitions such as the latest flounder one are found by people searching for them. ( ie. 23. Agreed Martin, I twigged that it shows the items you have contributed to. I was initially puzzling why the thread here had no "spot" and after I replied it suddenly had a spot. Alun, I guess that as all your threads have spots, this must mean you reply to most threads. This is actually quite a useful feature I think.
  24. Rich, But did you catch anything at all ?
