launched lymington at about 1-30 and off to try for a few bass unfortunately without the sandeels, alec said that this has been one of the worst seasons for getting hold of them reason unknown.
after a few drifts and no bass showing we headed of to freshwater for a try with the same luck so we decide to give it best and move on to a bit of inshore drifting.
drifting proved to be enjoyable with red gurnard and bream being good sport on light tackle.
time to anchor up for the sole and after a very slow start we finished the morning with eight sole the largest about 1 3/4.
three v happy chaps head back at about three with the sea like a mill pond.
bream, garfish, mackerel, red gurnard, cuttlefish, bass(minature) and sole.
from the radio it sounds like it was a good night to be fishing.
cheers andy.
