having been around a few of these things and seen hundreds on and offshore in holland/belgium it seems that wherever the proposed site is situated the nimbys and scaremongers appear, the area chosen off our coast would seem to be the least intrusive on most counts , its out of the way of most of our fishing grounds slightly east of the ferry routes, north of the shipping lanes . at the moment the economic and green benefits are difficult to see but as oil gets rarer and more costly the balance shifts in favour of wind energy ,once up and running they become part of the scenery we just need to navigate round them,

i think you will find a 1000w is nowhere near enough for either of the appliances you mention kettles tend to be 1.8 to 2.2kw and a 750w microwave draws 1500w or so it is possible to use an inverter but a large batterycapacity and high out put alternator are required i know several boats running 3kw inverters but only use them while the engine is running and only for short periods

doubt it they generally use 500m for exclusion zone but the ducallion isnt a particullaly consistant wreck any way with all that noise in the water (the salvage boat is sat over the wreck on d.p)there are much better options

if you know the the position of the dallas city id be interested to know the wreck everyone thinks is the dc is actually the ducallion diving it this weekend will be fun on a spring tide 20min slack !!!!! also be aware the ice prince salvage works are in progress bang in between the ducallion and the kolga

i wouldnt bother trying to fish the ice prince on the in/out legs boys and girls the salvage operation is happening so no pollack /cod there just clogs

them explorers are very good ive fitted 3 of em now if you get a flat screen tv with dvd player built in you get to plot watch telly and dvds all on the one screen , most of the screens need solid mounting brackets making but are much tougher than laptops, just steer clear of the seiwa/sitex radar its c**p
