  1. Morning Terrance, should you feel the need to launch from Portland again, and need crew with knowledge, (limited....a little like a company), give me a shout. I'm self employed again now, so can take time off reasonably short notice.

Mark B and I used to fush the area loads in our boat, plus I charter from there, so have built up  fair bit of gen over the years. Its a fab place to fish, really fab.

Im out of there tomorrow, with Josh Simmonds on Fish On!! so will post you any catch and areas covered.

Hope all is well my friend, Rich

  2. Hi Mike, cheers for the recipe............tried it with some cuttlefish that I caught earlier today.........at Tesco's......came out very well, although you have to fry them for such a short time, otherwise they go very rubbery........waiter...this chicken's rubbery.........ah fankoo velly much sah!

  3. Charlie have you wound it off the reel then put it bck on back to front? Its generally only the front section of braid that gets the wear. That wy it should last you twie as long. Ive always done this, and never lost fish due to break offs....................just havent had many fish on I guess

  4. Hi oli, Wrasse can be very difficult to identify, mainly due to the fact tht few people target the smaller speicies, with Cuckoo perhaps being one of the easiest to identify, and give you very good percentage points when specimen comp fishing, as a 1lb fish is easy to get over the gunwalls, so to speak.

Try this identifying page as a source of reference, plus commit some of the esier identifying features to memory, the more you catch, the easier it becomes.

    Hope this helps budweiser

Rich......not in any way suggesting that you are an idiot.......just hope it helps!

  5. Hi Adam, read the thread from start to latest post today, trolling through posts that have been made over the four odd years Ive been absent, and I have to take my hat off to you, and the team around who helped. The turnaround for the project hs been awesome to say the least, and Rache needs a medal for putting up with it!!

I spoke to Bob F recently, and decided to get back into my fishing. Studying was both costly......I could have bought a decent boat!!!.....and non essential, as I have slipped back into tree surgery on the Railway Network.

I would anticipate a long list of crew, but should you need a space filling, would be good to get afloat again.

    Well done chap, top drawer.

  6. Thanks for the kind words men. No Martin, not AWOL, just forgot password....its an age thing ;0)

No, didnt really learn too much, except I'm too old to be sat in a lecture theatre for hours nd hours, and statistics is the most mind numbing subject on the planet.

Will try and get down to the meeting july, but no promises as living down in Chulmleigh Devon now, so it will be a bit of a longer drive than Southampton!!

Will try my best to attend......

Oh........who did you borrow tht Cod from in the Avatar wedge my old friend.......saw you on the TV down here the other day....man of many talents!!

  7. Late putting pen to paper as Ive a few more considerations to make before committing to fishing....not that it really stopped me before!!!

If there is a space on any of the floatilla, I am happy to crew.

Huge changes have taken place over the past twelve months, seeing me get wed, inherit two extra children, and become a ful time student......groan!

I do not have exams over that period, so would really love the opportunity to make the trip again.

    Many thanks in anticipation.........

    Rich

  8. Hi troops, seeking a childs life jacket or similar for a child of five years. He weighs about three and half stone, not a lardy chap like myself!

Might consider second hand if the safety guru's amongst us think that second hand will be ok.

Spotted this on fleabay: Item number: 270751394236 any good?

    Appreciate your looking.
