  1. I’ve decided not to invest in this, but I’m sure it won’t be hanging about.
  2. I wasn’t expecting to see this tonight and I’m also very sorry to see that you are selling Brian. I can’t deny that what Jim says is true. You have my attention .
  3. A young lad, a friend of my son, fell in to crew for me on Friday. The mid day low tide made Tucton look an attractive option. Launch costs are reasonable, £7.50 for 12 hrs parking and ditto for the trailer. I was warned about the slip drop off but it was a very easy launch and retrieve for me and the newbie. Weather was superb to start with. Forecast to blow up a bit in the evening. The most satisfaction I got from the day was letting the young’un drive the boat. First following the intricate buoyage in the harbour and then running on compass settings on th open water. He did well ! Mackerel ! They are shy blighters this year, aren’t they? I spoke to otheranglers who were all of this opinion. The conditions produced 0.8 knot drifts over the ledge. We did this for few hrs with lures and baits. One bream gentlemen, this is a eulogy to just one bream.! At mid day I chucked an fender over by way of a man overboard exercise for my novice. I asked him to judge the wind direction. “What wind” came the reply, which was fair enough. He retrieved the virtual victim , no problem. I was impressed. About 4.00 pm things started to change. We ran inshore to try for plaice but the wind, as forecast and accompanying chop put paid to that. Final thought ? It was about the boating in good company , not the fishing.

  14. Terry is your place filled. ? I could be available and need to learn new tricks.
  15. After some unsuccess off Ballard we tried drifting the ledge off durleston. Lou and James caught mackerel there and one red gurnard. live baiting gave me the thrill of a big fish on! Six foot from the boat I saw a flash of silver and then itpower dived and spat the bait out unharmed except for suspected PTSD. Went to 5px50s planning to deploy our secret weapon . Mr ricks had given us some of his trout offal chum. With the tide moving hard we spent a fruitless hour there. Tried to do it again close in at Ballard and dissapointingly had no bites . A drift further out and a few in the swash all blanked. Final thoughts… get rid of all the rusty hooks.
  16. Yeah that will be last plaice for Gummage but we had a great dayDaughter Lou haled an enchanting rock (her first) followed by a crab and then had a tussle with something lively, well never know what. Her boyfriend James discovered a secret wrasse mark!Is it a Ballan? What is the deciding feature.?
  17. Plaice. Report to follow when I don’t feel completely b******d!
  18. Endeavour 3 is hopefully going out tomorrow. I’ll likely have a crew of unsigned renegades from wilts so just me entering. Going back to the herring grounds!

I’m going to have nightmares now.
  22. I see Mal mentioned my dunking in his report so I’ll explain. When they put those yellow buoys in at Baiter, did they dredge it a little bit? I tied to one next to where the slip is about 3 ft deep and thought it was the same under the boat. What happened next was reminiscent of that famous puddle scene in the vicar of dibley.😬 Actually it didn’t quite go above my chest waders until iclimed my rope ladder to get back aboard and found I couldn’t do it without leaning back! I got aboard with a litre of water in each boot .Yuck.
