  3. Jerry, a guy in the wsf forum has been singing the praises of a light coat of marine grease smeared all over the legs of his boat. Got to be worth a try for a while before painting them !! Neil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Myself and two friends raided the waters 6 miles south of the needles yesterday. Great tips from a couple of club members made the day, thanks guys [emoji1303]. We arrived around 1pm after steaming from Hamble and stopping at Yarmouth deep to feather for mackerel , we found 3 or 4 to add to the bait box. First drop for the tope produced a feisty 15lb example After that we had another 5 between 6-12lb, one brill A small thornie And of course the standard LSD (not deemed worthy enough for a pic)!! Weather was amazing and Tarlach Too behaved impeccably . All in all a great day out and loads of fun had !!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. Hi Charlie, Just past the needles or there abouts is the plan. We have a late start 11.30am so, would like to get fishing sooner rather than steam for hours !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Good point well made Martin!! Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. Hi I’ve just taken delivery of a new full Garmin suite, gpsmap 8410 x 2, AIS 800. I haven’t a need for the plotter so, would the furuno Radar be available separately .? And if so how much ?? Thanks Neil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. Hi all, I’m raiding your waters for the first time this season . Tarlach Too is heading west for an impromptu session with a couple of eager shipmates . I’m after some mark numbers for tope and conger near to freshwater or the near area !! Can anybody help ? Many thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Aux flush

I would say that it’s extremely important, especially if your not using the boat for weeks after the last voyage. Salt water is not an engines friend and can cause some damage ! You should flush after every use ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Engine Talk

I’ve had a Suzuki 150 and a mercury 150. Personally I preferred the mercury. Servicing was cheaper and it just seemed to have a better “pick up”(?) than the Suzuki . Both great engines though. I don’t think there is really a bad engine these days ! Happy as always to be proven otherwise though ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Balance pretty much sorted Martin, I’m still listing to starboard but only by 20mm over 3.5m. As Ive said, when under way she is level so it’s only when on the pontoon ! I’m putting this down to a manufacture defect as there is no reason for it. Engine is Revving at max manufacturers stated rpm yes !! [emoji16] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Ok, so a quick follow up on this subject. Last week I had the tanks on Tarlach Too cleaned out and the fuel polished. Balance pipe tested as clear. 3 access hatches were required to be cut in on each tank . Not loads of sludge but by far enough to cause problems. In line separator fuel filter replaced and also primary engine filter replaced (all by my own fair hands I’ll add)!! Manufacturers Max revs not achieved again thank god ! So now into the electronics suite !! I’ve just ordered........ Garmin GPSmap 8410 X 2 AIS 800 GT40 LVS12 GMS10 I have managed a 35% discount off of RRP. Still a whole lot of money but, hopefully it will last many many many years ...!! All building up to Alderney 2020 I hope !!! Now I need to rest my wallet and hide the receipts [emoji56] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  18. Does the club have pennants ?? To sell I mean ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Nice set up rob , definitely one to aspire to in the future. Think I’ll get the tanks and full electronics suite sorted first though!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Yes , but I’m hoping that once the tanks are cleaned there will be no need for any of that and the balance will be restored [emoji1317] I’m down here now and have just knocked on the tanks. The starboard tank does have a deeper sound to it than the port tank, hopefully indicating that it is all full on that side !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Hi Martin I could possibly squeeze myself in and remove the filler hose from the top of the tank but, seeing as I need them cleaned out anyway I’m going to wait til this is done (booked for end of this week) and then see if there is any difference in the list. If not then it’s back to the drawing board !! Neil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Hi Mike I’m led to believe that my tanks are balanced. I have two separate tanks each has it’s own filler cap. They are linked by a horizontal pipe which has a quarter turn lever valve mid way along the run. There is only one float gauge though which I find weird. Both tanks flow through just one fuel filter !! Does that sound like a balanced tank set up ?? Neil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Yeah I’ve tried moving my 1lb leads about but, to no avail !! I’m hoping that the balancing pipe between the two fuel tanks is blocked, hence maybe the starboard tank not emptying and causing the list !!!! I’ve done rough science this morning and I’m about 80kg heavy on the starboard side. If the starboard tank (200lt) is still full then that could well be it ?? Here hoping that the tanks assessment goes well and once cleaned and both working in conjunction with each other the problem rights itself . I did get a survey done yes but, it was not picked up. Neither was the lack of continuity on the prop, or the fact that the raw water cooling pipe is not up to current iso standards etc etc etc . Surveyor yet to get his money !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Mark, I defiantly do not have a tank mate. The pipe from the loo goes straight out through the hull sea cock fitting !! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Hi Mal, thanks for that. I have already spoken to Stuart in the past and to be honest his words are lovely but his actions are the opposite. I managed to get a line drawing pdf from him but, after that he is not interested. I’ve emailed and called since and he NEVER returns calls or emails!! Only interested in selling new boats !! I appreciate your efforts ! Neil Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
