  9. G, I have smart tabs and so does Charlie A. Superb for mine, there is a review on this forum of mine somewhere I believe. I changed the struts that come with them for stainless ones, these are from the US and really for freshwater. Hence, rust gathers on the shaft and ruins the seal on compression. R

    Sad news: Night angler dies after falling into sea at Tintagel - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cornwall-43090686 Doesn't say whether he was wearing a lifejacket or not, but I'd recommend one if fishing from a height above the sea. I've worn mine a few times spinning from the rocks in north cornwall / Devon. One reason I have a blue not red jacket, so it doesn't stand out when trying to keep a low profile from the fish (if that makes a difference!). Rob

Here are the details of the Wessex Tackle Boat selfies comp, there is another shore version: Wessex Tackle Species Hunt (boat ) 2018 There are a few simple rules and guidelines, which are as follows: •Handle fish safely in accordance with the Angling Trust rules. •To take part you must be registered •Registration to the contest will be £10 and made payable at Wessex tackle and Guns ; 321 Wimborne Rd, Poole BH15 3DH •All fish must be caught between the start and finish dates of the challenge Thursday 1st February 2018 – Thursday 31st January 2019 •All fish must be caught using rod and line from a boat either charter or private boat , kayaks included •All fish must be caught within Hampshire and Dorset. •All fish must be considered a salt-water species and be caught from waters that are affected by tidal ranges. •Fish of any size can be entered into the Species Hunt competition • Card Entries must be submitted within 7 days of being caught or within 24hrs of the competition ending •To enter a fish into either the Species Hunt, you must send an upload your image to the Wessex Tackle Species Hunt Facebook Page Please note only one blenny and one gobi You must also include the following information: •Name •Species of fish •Date it was caught •Location (Hampshire or Dorset) •The Photo must be clear and show the fish, include your Wessex Tackle Species Hunt Card with your name clearly visible Any questionable entries will be reviewed by a panel made up of Neil Cooke, Jay Hemming and Shane Munford and the majority vote will be final decision and the entrant informed of the decision •Any entrants found to be cheating will be disqualified and removed from the challenges The most important rule is to go out there and have some fun, compete with your friends and try new locations and styles of fishing.
