Hi Adam
I would not connect anything to the boat bildge pump, leave this well alone in case you have any ptoblems with coming into the boat.
This is a safety issue!
As you suggest pump water in using something like a "Whale pump" which will suck up sea water from outside the boat and have an overflow outlet with a hose to over the side of the boat. Don't forget to fit a filter over the overflow to stop the eels escaping, use an old pair of stocking/tights to act as a filter. (where you get these from I wil not go into
)
Why are you not using the fish wells fitted into the Warrior?

Hi Martin,
I have checked tide times for Portland and it seems
High Tide 8.45 - 9.27 am BST
Low Tide 1.34 - 2.17 pm BST
High Tide 9.14 - 9.45 pm BST
Not sure about Poole
I can make either harbour. As they say, "have car & boat will travel"
I have a few marks for Weymouth area.
Suppose it depends o weather, if Westerly wind (I think) you will get shelter from Portland.
Again I don't know about Poole
As you guys have the expertise can I suggest I leave it to you and deside nearer the time so we can see what the weather is doing
I can PM my mobile number if needed
I will be going down on Friday as I have a job in Dorchester Hospital so I will not be on line Friday night unless I can persude the outlaws to use thier PC on dial up

ps I see I have gone to a Cod Hauler ..............

Hi Guys & Gals
I hope to be bring my boat down next week-end for a trip out on Saturday 3rd July weather permitting
As my outlaws live near Morton, Dorchester I was thinking of going out from Weymouth or Poole.
I have been out from Weymouth a couple of times but never Poole.
Reason for the post is that as I understand you need to carry out a safety check but if I come down to Poole will someone be available?
I will also be looking for crew and/or buddy up with another boat.
I have charts and a chart plotter, GPS etc. but as new to area would like some experiance of the waters with me for safety reasons
I know where the slip is but will not have time to get any bait, in fact I don't even know which tackle shop to use. I know only one shop near the town quay back street.
Anyone have any thoughts or comments?

Hi again
I have just been reading some interesting stuff about props and cavitation etc. on the Steel Developments site.
Reading Jimbobs message I would suggest you get it looked at as soon as possible as the damage you can do is VERY expensive!
http://www.propellerworld.co.uk/Steel_Developx.html
The above link makes interesting reading if you are into props and how they work

Have any of you tried Steel Developments for prop repairs?
Web site is

I have had good reports from a number of people who have used them but I have not had the need yet!

Hi all
I have got the owners guide from Indespension for the Warrior trailer, mine is a Hallmark Roller Coaster 3. I have 165 x 13C tyres.
I have listed the tyres and pressures as given by Indespension
TYRE SIZE PSI BAR
145 x 13 35 2.4
165 x 13 36 2.45
165 x 13C 64 4.45
175 x 13 36 2.45
175 x 13 6PR 54 3.75
185 x 13 6PR 54 3.75
185 x 14 8PR 65 4.5
140/70 R10 62 4.25
155/70 R12 PCD112 75 5.2
155/70 R12 PCD140 90 6.2
155/80 R13 35 2.4
In case anyone is unclear about maximum towing speeds
Single Carriageways 50mph
Dual Carriageways 60mph
Motorways 60mph ........... NOT allowed in the third lane
The above ONLY applies if the GVW of vechicle & trailer (Train weight) is less than 7.5 tonnes.
Hope this helps someone

Hi
That is interesting about the keel rollers as not all of my keel ones touch the keel when on the trailer for transportation, however, when winching the boat onto the trailer the keel rollers that don't normally touch come into play and assist in getting the boat to sit square and on the outer rollers correctly.
This sounds more complicated that it is
I used nylon rollers previously on a Seahog and you do have to make sure it is strapped down well and when launching a good fixing for a rope to hold it from just sliding off the trailer.
I would keep one rubber roller on the bow area of the keel so any vibration is asorbed.
I have found you have to go into the water more with the Warrior than the Seahog so plenty of waterproof grease around the rollers and piviot points to keep everything smooth.
Adam, ref Gorilla tubs, I live near Bedford but travel all over the UK.

Thanks guys & gals
It was a bit cheeky I know but you don't find out anything uless you ask!
We don't talk about house hunting here unless you want a mouthful!!
Estate agents want you take you money for no work and then say you need to reduce the price to help them sell!!!!!!!
SO we told them what to do!
New agents came around tonight saying price was good
Once we sell here we can go for real hunting for property. Will rent a house if needed so we will have the upper hand for a change
Well thats the theory anyway
I am looking forward to meeting you guys down the pub .......... all those drinks you will be buying me ......................
Perhaps it will be me buying the drink to get some numbers out of some of you when you are most vunerable!
Will keep you updated as it happens

Hi Malroy
Thanks for that.
Seems a triffle expensive but I am sure it works well
Don't think the FPO will appreciate me spending that sort of money just before our holiday or house move!

Hi,
How many posts do you need to change from one status to another?
It seems I have been a 'Dogfish Lover' for ages.
They may be the majority of fish I catch but still ............

Hi Bob
No I was waiting to see how another chap was going to fit his own keel band to his 165.
He used stainless steel strip. Said it was a bit of a b****d to bend and burnt out a few drill bits but someone suggested to try Tungstan bits which helped!
Onced drilled and countersunk, he used s/s screws using stikaflex sealant and secured into the keel.
It looked ok to me, been looking into the price of brass ........... hmmmm need another bank loan!
However just ound out that his boat started to get hailine cracks along the hull near the strakes. Took it back to Warrior who have just declared it terminal!!!!
Warrior have agreed to replace the boat FOC even though the warranty has expired.
Now that's what I call customer service.

May I ask where you obtained yours?
Many thanks

Hi Guys & Gals
I have purchased a large aliminum radar reflector from ebay but I need some ideas on how best to fit it on the bridge on my Warrior 165.
I will need to lower it for towing, so it will need to swivel like the radio arial but I don't want it falling when traveling at sea.
Anyone any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Hi Bob
I have two batteries but only use one, which is charged by the engine, to start.
The other one is a normal car battery 85 amp/hr to run all the electronics, lights and bilge pump. The later is being changed so that the pump will run off the starter battery as I only use this if any spray comes over the top when travelling.
I had all the electronics on for both days aparantly the Fish finder uses the most power, unless you are on the radio all the time, and I should have sitched it off when at anchor. You never stop learning
I am, however, going to get a batery change over switch so if needed, I can top up the charge on the electronics battery. I know I should use a leasure battery but the boat came with this set up and as it is about 1 year old and the battery has 3yrs guarantee left I am not going to go out and get a new one just at the moment

Hi
May I make a suggestion that if you can get some 'Dry Ice' it will remain frozen for a least 2 days without any problems.
We had some this week-end and it kept everything frozen, we used one of those polystirene boxs as well.

Yes Adam
"Sammy" is mine!
I agree about the size of the live bait wells but I don't think I would allow the water to just drain into the boat!
I use mine for storing normal bait, with a couple of ice packs it keeps it cool, downside is when the squid starts to defrost and I don't clean the boat down well enough ................ phewww!!

With all you are putting on the boat it must be getting a bit crowded!
I am looking forward to next week-end but wind strengh looks c****py!
