  3. Hi Gary No I purchased the boat 2nd hand and it came with the boat, I bought the boat from the origanal owner and everything came from Warrior when it was new. Might be worth having a word with Adam to see who made his rail. Contact me anytime if you want to have a look see, in fact I could bring it down to a club meeting if you want. I would still like to get out for some fishing sometime but I need to do some jobs on the boat and I don't think I will be out this week-end. Good luck for Saturday if you manage to get out. Dave
  4. Hmmm How much fuel did that lot burn? I thought I heard a slight misfire on No.3 engine or it could be one of the 24 spark plugs breaking down! Just think how a prop repair shop would love to hear that you tried to get out/in over Christchurch bar at low water! Coddy
  5. Hi Gazza No problem, Took some shots for Adam, as he got one made due to the price from Warrior. The rail is removable so the trailer cover fits as normal. http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0024.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0023.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0022.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0021.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0020.jpg http://i116.photobucket.com/albums/o39/Coddy_02/DSCF0019.jpg If you want to come up to take measurements or a look see give me a call Hope the links work ok Coddy

  7. Hi Rich I agree and that's how I knew I needed to do something, however it is always getting around to do it. I would rather go out fishing when it is nice weather and when it's not I don't want to be standing out there working on the boat. That is the benefit of have a boat at your home, you can nip out when the weather or the feeling allows. All I have to do now it put it all back on the boat. Cleaned and polished up all my rods as well, found one rod with a broken tip ring so was a worthwhile excercise. Out of interest how many lead weights do you all carry on your boats? Lifted my box up and nearly crippled myself. Looking back I have not used any in the last 12 months from the box so why do I carry it all? Just thinking of all that extra fuel I used as well! Coddy

  9. Hi all, As some of you know I don't keep my boat at home due to lack of room, so went up to check it out after the storms. Fortunately no problems. Whilst there I thought I would carry out a few checks over the boat as I had nothing else to do. On checking the anchor warp I noticed that it was starting to show signs of fraying. So I loaded the whole lot into the car and came home with so I could splice another eye in the bottom end of the rope and reconnect it to the anchor chain. Before I recoiled the rope back into the tub, I don't have an anchor well, I clipped onto the end of the rope a small spare buoy so if I need to I can tip the whole lot into the water and get out of the way of a problem quickly, I can then return pick up the buoy and recover the lot. Just a thought, when was the last time you checked your anchor rope? Whilst the weather is cr*p why not do some checks then you will be ready when a weather window opens. Coddy

    Boat Bits

Hi Regarding petrol going "off", I have been advised by someone "in the know" (a chemist!?) that as long as the tank is full and is air tight there shoud not be a problem for a couple of months. If you wish you can add a fuel additive which "keeps" petrol longer. I can confirm this thery, as I used an old can of fuel to start an outboard and the can's fuel was at least 1 year old but had not been left open to the air. Engine started fine. As a tip for stuck cables, desiel makes a very good freeing agent for rusty parts or corroded cables, make sure you lubricate well afterwards Hope this helps. Coddy
  12. It is always sad to see something you have loved pass on, however there is always the anticipation of the new boat. Finding out what she will do or not do, fitting extras which make life a little easier and just enjoying the new boat when going out for a run. Don't look back Adam, start making plans for the new one which may be just around the corner. Coddy
  13. Just seen the list of "Top Posters" on the site Now I can understand Adam, Maverick and Paul D being at the top, but Newboy? I think Kam you must spend too much time on the PC and not enough at work. Perhaps your good lady says you talk too much Coddy

  16. Hi Jas I found the 230 a nice craft but would add some changes as detailed in the Stone Fisher report. Yes you can sit and steer/control from the helm. Can I suggest that if you really fancy trying one out check out Stone Fishers web site and ring Rob and I am sure he would be happy to take you out or get a group of mates and have a days fishing which will really test out the boat to see if you like it. Stone Fishers Charters Web Site Rob does check out days or part days, take the FPO and kids for a day out in Plymouth .................... only joking! Coddy
  17. Hi Jas I went out on one of the Stone Fisher rental boats in Plymouth last year. Did a report on my web site, have a few photos there as well if it helps. Coddy

    Double Anchoring

Thanks, hadn't thought of that one (doh) Coddy
  20. Whilst we wait for all this weather to pass through and raise the water levels, can I ask a question about double anchoring. What I mean is that when anchoring normally, that is fine but when the tide slackens or it is windy and in a small tide the boat often swings about. What are your thoughts about dropping another smaller anchor from the back to stop/reduce the swing? One of the problems I can see is getting the back anchor away from the boat enough. Thought about this and then came up with letting more rope out from the front, drop the back anchor then recover the excess on the front warp! Second worry (big one this) what happens when the tide turns? Having the stern into tide does not seem a good idea. So does anyone do this or am I missing something here? Reason for asking is if you got a good spot were the fish are, last thing you want is to swing about with the bait and end tackle being dragged around. Coddy
  21. Be warned! ------------------------------------ Quote:- I have it on good authority from enquiries made by staff at MWH that there are now small undetectable specs cameras (average speed detection cameras) sited in both the north and south bore of the Blackwall tunnel. Apparently they are going live today. The speed limit for the tunnels are 30mph northbound and 40mph southbound. It would appear that Marlowe house have no knowledge of this and state it is TFL that have implemented it. Any offences for speeding through the tunnel would be raising funds of

  24. Paul D, I am not sure if you have noticed but a groing number of sites have a web address motif which stays with your address in "Your favorites". I was wondering if this could be added to this site. Can I suggest a Blue background with PB on it? Up to you. Coddy
  25. Mike Have to agree that 12mm is the minimum I would go down to, try pulling in a rope in shallow water where you can't use the Aldeerney ring to lift the anchor, and you will soon be glad you got a thicker rope. I would go down to a chandlers and "have a feel" of the differant sizes available. Coddy
