Hi Guys I forgot to add that I do not have any of the goods, you need to call Geoff on the numbers given above. I know he is coming down this week-end so call him soon to get him to bring down the bits you want. Sorry I did not make it clear before. Coddy

Hi Trev I can understand that, but when I use to fish up on the East coast from the river Deben, near Felixstowe, they were and still are moving the channel markers as the sand banks change. A survey is regularly carried out by the harbour master who advises Trinity House to move markers. This happens all year long! Perhaps the Christchurch Harbour Master only works in the Summer! Coddy

Worked for me ok, make sure you have your mp3 player option enabled on your sound card setup and on the volume controls, shows a little speaker in the task bar, or go to Control panel and select Sound on there. Nice one Paul! Coddy

I know it's a stupid question .................. but why do they take the buoys up? Would seem that safety is paramount so leave them there. Coddy

Hi all, With such nice weather I decided to head for the Needles to see if I could catch a Cod! Having arrived over there it was like a car park at B&Q! Picked my spot and dropped the pick jsuat as the last of the flood was going. I soon started getting bites but could not connect but I was not surprised due to the size of hooks I was using. Well after a few hours and with the tide rushing through and having to use 1lb to 1.5lb wieghts I decided to head back towards Poole. Had a few drifts in the Swash with out any luck! Got back to my slip only to find it was completly dried out so a quick call to my son to collect the car and trailer and meet me at Baiter to recover. Thanks to Bob F for the help in pushing the boat and trailer to the car. Would have stopped for a chat to everyone but my son needed to get back. No Cod in fact no fish! but it was great being out and travelling 50miles on water on a super day. Coddy

Hi Charlie I am getting used to looking at Gurnards now and I would say that you have a Red in your hands by the look of the top fins, can't see the wings to see if they had any coloured edges to them. Coddy

It was very red when I brought it in, took a while to get a photo and when it went back it took quite a while to recover. It had loverly blue lines to the wings leading edges. You can just about see it in the photo. Coddy

Hi Bob I too have both types and use nothing but the neoprenes. When it gets a bit cold I just use thermal socks for a bit more warmth but they are normally warm on the feet anyway. Easy to get on/off Seem to grip in my boat, no slimy fish allowed on the floor If they do get wet, they dry quicker Cheaper than Hot Foots Coddy

Hi all launched Sammy about 8.30 and headed out to X-ray hole from Poole. Dropped the pick and started to catch doggies. Neo gave me a call and said he was near by and they were into doggies as well and did I fancy a move? I got the anchor up and headed South about a couple of miles where a group of boats were fishing, found a spot and down went the anchor again. Soon into doggies (again) then got a nice sizable whitting then more doggies. A while later Paul then said he was off again going West so I lifted the pick again and went West as well. Found Paul and anchored near by. Into doggies again but then had a nice 1.5lb Red gurnard, my first this year. Went dead for a while and Paul went back to Christchurch so I went over to the swash, was winding in and had a bite but it dropped off so no idea what it was. Cleaned the boat up and put the rods away and headed back in. This was my first 'fishing' trip alone on the boat so had to do everything which made life interesting to say the least. Just finished packing the boat up ready to leave when the battery on the car went dead! Had to wait for the RAC to give me a jump start. Need to find a new battery for the car now! Coddy

Hi Bob I too have lost my father but some time ago. He is often in my thoughts and I am sure your father will remain with you forever and you may well find he returns when you least expect it and brings a smile to your face. My thoughts are with you and your family at this time. Coddy
