    Rubber D Fender

Adam, I took the buffering off of Splash-Out yesterday to clean the boat, leaving the ends attached to the transom. Then left her in the sun to let the rubber warm up. The buffer was tough to put back on but did eventually do it by twisting and pushing into place, starting at on e end and working my way round. I will not be taking it off again in a hurry though! Left wrist is knackered now. BF
  3. Hi Jason, I'll get you out on Splash Out once I get my act together. Just got back from Israel and I'm feeling a little shell shocked... A missile landed 500m from our hotel. Then another one landed near to where we had dnner!!! I think someone was trying to tell me something, so I said "bugger this for a lark" and got the next flight home. Home safely now but have still got some work to do on the boat before I can put her on the water again. Stick in there mate. We'll get you out fishing. Bob F.
  4. Could be the "unkown" wreck or one of the Valentine Tanks. Both would be tough to find 'cus they're buried in the sand. BF
  5. Good to see you've made the registration Legless (Jason). Welcome aboard... Keep an eye on the Boat Buddies section. cheers Bob F.
  6. Do you know the name of the wreck you were trying to find?

  12. ...and you both got cracking suntans, too. Although Mark looks more like a Panda Bear. Good effort on the fishing front, though. BF
  13. Good to hear you were catching plenty, but isn't it amazing how eagerly we await the arrival of the bream and then how quickly we get fed up with the pesky blighters...? Except when they earn you

  16. Like you say, Allan, its great when a plan come together. Nice one! BF
  17. Ooogh, that's a tough one. Unlucky Dan. Wondered why you didn't phone anything in. Better luck next year. BF
  18. Thanks Chaps. The competition calculator is updated with the latest Area D list (i.e. Bull Huss 10lb). This is what the 48hr will be scored against. Good luck to all. cheers BF
  19. Alun, yes, you can phone in on Sunday. BF
  20. Where can we get the definitive lastest NFSA Specimen size list???? I can't find it anywhere on the NFSA web site. I'm assuming the one on the Sea Angler web page is the latest, but...is it? That's the one we will be using for the results calculator, and its too late to change it now. So, we will be fishing with the one with Bull Huss at 13lb at the link in the earlier post. Whiting is 3.5lb. cheers BF
  21. Matt, does that mean we can put you down as entering the 48hr comp? BF
  22. Different type of satellite, Rich. The ones used for GPS stay in one place in the sky. This is how you get an accurate position measurement. Mike, with the "older" handhelds the initial acquistion when you first ever turn it on, or after you have reset it to the factory settings, will take some time, especially if you have not told it where you are in the world. If you tell it approx where you are it looks up a table (like an almanac) and knows which satellites should be in the sky, and it can then acquire the signal quicker. It knows which "signature" to look for and therefore finds them quicker. Now that your handheld has found 8 or 9 satellites it knows where it is in the world (unlike some of us ) and should acquire the signals much quicker the next time you power it on. BF
  23. The NFSA specimen size list that I refer to in the 48hr post appears to be the latest one. http://www.seaangler.com/Seaangler_Specimens%20A-E.html It has the Bull Huss at 13lb. This is the list we are using in the Competition Calculator. Our area is Area D. BF
  24. Go get'em, Batman!! BF

    Bully Pb

Nice fish Dan. Beats my PB for a bully. Pleased that the GPS is working well. By the way, the GPS coordinates expire after a trial period. BF
