Hey Kim, great to hear from you matey. Club meeting will be on the 8th due to a double booking at the club. Looking forward to reading your catch reports from sunny Portugal. Will you be buying a boat??? cheers Bob F
  5. We'd be able to play with the doughnuts at Studland. Which would save me getting my collar grabed again... BF
  6. A reminder to everyone that our 48 hr Competition is next weekend, June 2nd to 4th. Competition starts at 5pm on Friday 2nd June, and finishes at 5pm on Sunday 4th June. Competitors can fish any or all of the 48hrs. Entry is
  7. So, if Illusion is a Tupperware box, I wonder what that makes my Alsaka 500 (Splash-Out)?? At least S.O. now has a beautiful new pedestal seat...which has given the "illusion" (s'cuse the punn ) that she has a bigger deck. I've heard told that Crazy is never lonely out there...he always seems to have a friend to talk to...trouble is, nobody's seen his friend. BF
  8. The rumour on the net is that it's the Webmistresses birthday today... If tis true, Happy Birthday Helen!!! 24 again. Bob F
  9. Oh, come on!! How could you improve a face like that?? When I was born the doctor smacked my mum instead of me. Said she had no right to bring something like that into the world.
  10. Yup.
  11. Paul, What does he want to pay? I've gotta Suzuki 4hp two-stroke that I've hardly used since new (2000). Probably only run it 5 or 6 times. BF

  15. BBD, you're right. Actually, the article said "two generations ago." Which would've been when Crazy was just startiing out, I guess. BF
  16. Any one know what defines a Game fish, as related to Sea fishing? What tweaked my interest was the Bass article in this months BFM, where it mentions, "bass happens to be one of our few Game fish in the sea." 20 yrs ago bass was used for crab bait because it had no commercial value. Was it considered a Game fish, then? if not, what has changed to now define it as a Game fish? And what other Game fish do we have on our waters? cheers BF
  17. Hopefully I'll have the pedestal seat installed by then. Ripped out the seat box today and tidied the area up a bit. Now need to get some screws and fit the pedestal. Hopefully tomorrow. BF

...but if he was on the boat moored to the pontoon it would count, right???
  19. The Garmin 80 and new Garmin 90 have portable versions. Eagle and Hummbird also do portable FF's. All are B&W though, I think. The Garmin 160C is colour and comes in a portable version. BF
  20. Mike, you have a PM. The Spoil Grounds is easy to find on the chart. Look for the large dotted circle SE of Old Harry. It's usually a mark that is anchored, using Mackeral or Squid baits fished hard to the bottom. BF
  21. Bl@@dy Grrrrr...
  22. I hope May 13th isn't a Friday... Just checked...its a Saturday. Phew!!! Good luck. BF
  23. Plumb Center or a Harware Store I'd suspect. Adam is over in Alderney right now, so we won't get a reply from him till the weekend. BF

    Anchor Trip

Hi Islander, Yes, I would never tie off the anchor on the stern, either. As for leaving the chain slightly loose between the end of the chain and where the chain is tie wrapped, I've read about this before and tried it a couple of times. Seems to work ok 'cus I haven't lost an anchor with it tripped that way. I'd forgotten about this, and so will start using it again. BF
